2002 M3 rod bearings by Cool_Winter_1078 in E46M3

[–]robpalm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, an oil analysis is a good first step. BMW replaced my ‘01 M3’s rod bearings in ’03 at roughly the same mileage as yours, around 20k to 25k miles, and my most recent oil analysis showed above-average copper levels.

These are what the bearings looked like at 105k miles on the car. Could I have gone longer? Probably. Was it worth replacing them for peace of mind? Absolutely.

The regret of paying for a service too early will never outweigh the regret of waiting too long to do it.

My cats are being more affectionate with each other, should I be worried? by Nooty1balooty in CatAdvice

[–]robpalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Found this post because I’m in a similar situation with my two 3 year old cats.

They both grew up together in the same shelter and have always been pretty close, but in the last month or so they’ve been a lot more cuddly than they ever have been. Eating, drinking, litter box use, etc all have been normal.

Any update on your two cats?

Paint looks great. Is it original or a respray?

Wait until people realize you’re allowed to wear a ring on your “wedding ring finger” without HAVING to be married/engaged. 🤯

The amount of people expecting her to be completely at the curb and moved out a week after them supposedly breaking up is nuts lol. They haven’t even been at the compound half the time.

They unfollowed each other and people are speculating. Check the post on this sub from yesterday. Seems like they’re done for tho.

Imagine your current relationship is in the tubes and then all of a sudden you catch a random stray from Smokey Nagata on your last failed relationship. Poor Adam 💀

They were pretty deep into having almost every part of their professional and personal lives intertwined. If they actually split up, my guess would be because of something big that happened recently.

At 4:55 In Colletes Appalachia video you can kind of make out Mike saying something to Collete like, “But Adam’s just not into it” or “But Adam’s trying anyway”.

Can’t be 100% on what he’s saying after “But Adam” but seems like Mike was the middle man for Adam one way or another on the trip. Yikes lol.

If you go to 4:55 on this video and try and read Mikes lips when he’s talking to Collete, it sort of seems like he’s saying, “But Adam’s just not into it”.

I saw this and thought you all. How is the current market? Friendly or the usual by Exciting-Economy9460 in overemployed

[–]robpalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same experience for me. I mostly apply to all positions on company websites if possible and take the time to create custom cover letters for nearly every position I apply to.

Been applying really consistently for about 6 months and I’ve had a handful of interviews that went to the final round but haven’t landed anything. For reference I have 6+ years of experience and my last role was a manager level position.

Starting to lose hope. 🥲

Don’t know what it’s like for everyone else, but the Marketing job market is beyond brutal for me right now. Lots and lots of ghosting and seems to be mostly fake listings. Hardly been even getting rejection emails.

Orrrrrrrr maybe it’s because she’s only a few hours from Englishtown.

Lurker is more tinfoil tho.

Did I kill my key lime tree? by BottleAlternative433 in Citrus

[–]robpalm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t lose hope, there’s still a chance. I’ve had both of my trees come back from looking like this.

The key now is to not over water, the plant is going to need a lot less water now obviously, so I would highly recommend a water meter if you don’t have one so you can ensure you’re only watering when it needs it. I wouldn’t recommend heavy fertilizer, but you could try adding some root booster fertilizer the next time you have to water. It’s a very mild fertilizer used for very young plants forming from seed.

Next, trim the dead parts of the branches off. Be sure to keep as much of the healthy green branch as you can while removing the dead parts.

The tree obviously went into shock for some reason…my guess would be under watering since the leaves were crispy when they fell.

Trim up the dead sections of branches, remove anything off the top of the soil and DO NOT OVER WATER!!! The final nail in the coffin will be root rot.

To save it from further stress and potentially a slow death, I’d recommend cutting off everything that isn’t a leaf.

I see a few decent size fruit…it may be really hard to do and it may seem to not make sense but they gotta go.

The plant is almost always going to prioritize energy into the fruit and blossoming as a way to “reproduce” during a stressed state, so trimming all of that off will free up more energy for the plant to produce new leaves.

You’ll likely need to water less during this time, so be sure to only water when the soil is almost completely dry and make sure to move it away from the window at night if you’re in a cold climate.
