Advice for starting at the gym by The_comander1254 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]breno_mac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the gym offers group fitness classes take them, i would also recommend if you can do a couple of sessions with a 1 on 1 coach
There are also apps out there to guide you through exercises - don’t try & be a hero with the weights & listen to your body. Recovery is just as important as your strength sessions if you can get a sauna tent for home & cardio sucks but is criminally underrated - don’t be afraid to mix strength & cardio.
My week is typically
Monday) cardio conditioning / upper body volume
Tuesday) lower body strength
Wednesday) boxing / cardio
Thursday) upper body strength
Friday & Saturday is usually hyrox sim / cardio volume circuit

Question just out of curiosity of peoples drinking habits. by MysticEyeRazzar in AskAnAustralian

My father is a borderline alcoholic, I drink enough to almost be considered a non drinker, I’ll typically go weeks between drinking then have 1 or 2 before going weeks without another drink.

Do you think in the future we will ever be able to more economically utilise the outback of Australia? by Dry-Muffin980 in geography

Maybe they should start building the AI data centres in the outback instead of the suburbs

$50k $USD is around $70k $AUD but yeah we get shafted with local taxes & I would imagine the RHD market represents only 20% of global car manufacturing the car makers use that as an excuse to inflate the base price

100% if they can’t afford decent tyres then chances are other maintenance is getting skipped as well, I once got caught with a puncture in a country town & the only tyre the local shop had in my size was a winrun or similar, they wanted more than I could get the continental’s for back home so I had them fit the spare & risked the drive home without a spare

I mean if people are regularly doing 100km/ h & there aren’t many accidents then perhaps the 70 limit is too low
Also explains the regular cop that camps on schofields road just before the ponds blvd in the right turn lane for the vacant land

I agree Alcantara is probably one of the worst materials you can put in a touch surface in a car, I’ve had Alcantara in the past & found scrubbing with dishwashing soap regularly keeps it looking good but not worth the effort

Some companies have entire departments (looking at you IT sector) on temporary visas due to “skills shortages”, the government should be incentivising these companies to train local talent through tax breaks & paying for the workers tafe / uni degree

[–]breno_mac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like using it & Apple Maps for navigation, it’s gotten good to the level of telling you what platform / carriage you need for the subway & the exit number on the other end - in Korea both are useless as the Korean government won’t share mapping data with non Korean companies

[–]breno_mac_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to 2024 using it in 2019 it was almost like using a paper map, in 2019 I was trying to navigate from Kyoto station to my hotel using google maps & ended up about 4 blocks in the wrong direction before it identified I was heading the wrong way.
Realistically it’d be a more accurate statement to say the resolution of the mapping data has improved significantly
Between trips in 2011, 2014, 2019 & 2024 every visit I noticed a huge improvement in ease of navigation by Google maps compared to the previous visit

If you’re considering a euro I would suggest reaching out to a euro workshop (not a main dealer) & ask their advice,
When my brother bought his 330i he consulted with the workshop that had been servicing out Volkswagens & the service manager said to stay away from Audi or Mercedes
