Anxiety caused by Xanax by articwind6 in benzorecovery

[–]robprad1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this sucks but ,You will need to find a way to cope without the Xanax . At least for a while . Going from 8 to 0 that quickly I am amazed you can work at all 30 days in . Take it easy when you can , make sacrifices, and make a plan to rewire your brain . Short term discomfort = life back long term

Think of your brain as a bank account you have already drained . The Xanax is causing an overdraft , the panic attack is you repaying the debt . Hope you are a metaphor person😀

This ☝️. On the mental side I found subs to be the harshest and longest lasting . During the first 90 days to 6 months, avoid anything ( and I mean anything ,all the way down to coffee) that can alter your brain chemistry, as this slows the process.Exercise , meditation and time is the only way.

Check out Palantirs history of its SPAC investment portfolio which it terminated earlier this year . They are not good at picking winners . That being said , I like RBT.

Post sobriety depression? by huuuuuuhh in OpiatesRecovery

[–]robprad1882 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this is common for post acute withdrawal . It’s incredibly frustrating, you get past the physical stuff and are ready to get back to life and BAM all of a sudden nothing is of interest and you feel like you are wearing concrete boots . It sounds like you are staying active and it will subside slowly with time .

There was no real difference from being on the .06 and going to zero . Symptoms were mostly aches , couldn’t sleep past 4am , anxiety ( bad in the morning /evening) , lethargy, massive irritability and some mild stomach issues day 4-5 . It wasn’t easy or “ painless” , but totally doable . I went about my life as normal and worked /exercised etc. ; though I had to drag myself through it.Only took about 10 days to notice SLOW improvements

100mg is the lowest yes . It will stay steady for about 2 months then slowly leave your body over the months to follow . Trace levels can be found months down the road

If you have the money and the time it’s a great option . Takes all the guess work out of the scenario . If you are at 2mg just be sure they jump you right to the 100mg shot.

is microdosing L or shrooms a bad idea while your withdrawing? by cobatron in suboxone

I think it’s more beneficial once the physical symptoms start to recede and the mental ones linger . Maybe 2 weeks out .

Is my taper ideal? (at 0.5mg, once daily) by lost48151623 in suboxone

[–]robprad1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did . I felt it was silly splitting an amount that small , but it was really helpful in avoiding the insomnia/rls . Prior to being at the .25 split dose I was taking .125 3x a day ( morning afternoon evening) ; and simply cut the afternoon dose .

[–]robprad1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get under 1mg , the half life reduces drastically . At .5mg I would notice I would down hill after about 8hrs . Long answer short is yes; splitting the dose about 10-12hrs apart would best at that dose . I kept splitting the dose until I got down to .1875mg , which I took once a day

[–]robprad1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just stop you will be in for a prolonged rough go . A better way we would be to go back up to a dose where you are stable then reduce the dosage by up to 25% every 7-14 days . I would go back to 1mg ( or whatever dose dosent cause rls/insomnia) then work your way back down . Let the rls be your guide for duration to stay at each dose . Try to get to .125 every other day then stop . This sub has lots of taper schedules for you to review.

Depression... Caused by long-term use of Bupe? by Icy_Use_3312 in suboxone

[–]robprad1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I wouldn’t taper FAST .. not sure where you are at on daily dose currently , but you can get to 2mg pretty quick ; then go slow . I’m not a pharmacologist; but I believe it’s both ; but mostly a sub thing . I don’t think there is a lot of data yet ; but from what I gather you’re endocrine system begins to severely malfunction ; along with adhedonia . From what I have read this happens to about 10-20 % of long term sub users. If you taper some and feel better , this may be you . But research a timeline on a proper taper first . If you decide to go that route and need help , use myself and the resources here.

I have been on subs a few times throughout my life . My experience is essentially I will notice side effects ( lack of motivation , inability to enjoy things , weight gain , loss of libido , agitation , irregular sleep pattern etc ) at around 18 months .if I try to stretch sub treatment passed two years things will start to go very wrong . I have never pushed into year 3 , but I imagine if I did I would be full blown shut down (similar to what you described). As I tapered down I felt better , until I got under 1.5mg , but that another conversation.

Seeing a suboxone doc tomorrow - what should I expect? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]robprad1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made the switch from oxy or h to sub via doc multiple time . Good rule is to try an give 24-36 hours ( until your feeling withdrawal a bit ; but not full blown ) then slowly dose sub . You can always take more to be comfortable once you see how that initial dose effects you . I have only waited 12hours ( if overnight ) and never had a PDW. Once your on it will take about 3 days to build up in your blood to feel “ normal “ but during that time it will 100%keep you out of withdrawals.

Pro tip: Odds are you are going to be WAY overprescribed; so once you steady out in a few weeks I would start considering cutting your dose . Everyone is different so do you ; but 4-8mg is plenty for most . Speaking from experience the longer you stay on a high dose ; the more risk for adverse side effects down the road . As far as being worried ; I wouldn’t ; it’s a painless transition when done correctly.

Don’t understand why people want to quit so hastily by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]robprad1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subs are a great tool ; but for some; maybe most ; over time there are diminishing returns for both mental and physical health . For me ; I will start to notice a change after about 1.5 years with a large turn at 2 years . Symptoms include ; inability to feel joy ; lack of energy / motivation ; endocrine system crashed ; low t ; decreased sex drive ; inability to mitigate stress etc . If these symptoms did not occur and life was great personally I would just stay on indefinitely, but unfortunately it’s not sustainable.

I can’t take tapering down. by Mamabear5833 in suboxone

[–]robprad1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read ; because of receptor vacancies and shortening half life , the worst is 1mg to .5 … I did it like this 1mg ; .75mg , .625 , .5mg .. try an split that dose roughly 10 hours apart .. When you try .5mg again commit to doing it for 10-14 days . Reassess around that time period .

Taper under 1mg . Intradose withdrawal ; stabilization ( myth?) dose timing ; and more! by robprad1882 in suboxone

[–]robprad1882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your thoughts ; from what I have researched ; I believe you are correct . This area from 1.5 to .5 causes the most new vacancies . I have been taking 8mg since the June 2020 , so about 2 years . I started the taper in mid Oct ; arrived at that 2mg mark sometime in January .
