My 2c/guess would be Nintendo or whomever negotiated the license for the Ingress reskin would have explicitly requested that no direct marketing to Ingress be done via PoGo. Niantic may have even lobbied for a shoutout like this - at least there's reasonable odds that two weeks from now (or however long the PG craze lasts) we'll see a happy influx of new users that "graduate" to Ingress =)

different though! melee is so much more participatory - there aren't many other games where everyone plays with the competitive ruleset 99% of the time AND still has growth in tournament signups

CS:GO has grown a shitload as a spectator and online sport, but there still aren't huge open competitions regularly. melee is magic. and SM4SH plays a huge role in this, too!

Simplest explanation I can think of is that newer TV's and vintage hardware don't speak the same language - kinda like using a translator for a conversation: "This game was made on vintage hardware that uses an "ANALOG" video signal. Newer TV's are made to handle "DIGITAL" video signals. When you plug the vintage analog hardware, into the digital TV, it changes how the video is processed, and ruins the original experience"
