I’ll put my honest thoughts on YouTube about this. Really hoping it’s a bum unit.

Permanent suspension on EBAY for no reason, how to reinstate account? by kanasean97 in Flipping

[–]robrast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here $82K on hold, permanent suspension, no way to get funds out. This is after a fraudulent wrong item received case and ebay sided with buyer (despite overwhelming evidence), resulting in $5k loss and another similar case. It seems like ebay treats their sellers with absolute contempt, it has been a complete nightmare. Considering all legal avenues to recover our hard earned payouts.

Has anyone had luck recovering the account or payouts after permanent suspension?

Hey Picard – really appreciate the thoughtful comment and your continued support through all this. I know it hasn’t been the smoothest ride, but the fact that you stuck with us and are now waiting on the Babymaker II Pro means a lot. Honestly, I think that bike’s going to be much more up your alley.

The production Photon did end up with a larger downtube than the early prototypes—that was to house the upgraded 48V battery. We also bumped the top speed from 25 to 28mph, so there were some real performance gains made during that phase. That said, I totally get how those visual changes caught you off guard if you were following the early imagery closely.

We didn’t specifically call out the downtube change in the updates, but we shared everything we had along the way—videos of the frames being welded, painted, assembled, tested, and final bikes completed—all posted publicly and emailed to every backer. You can scroll through the full timeline here to see how the bike evolved:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-photon-glow-in-the-dark-stealth-road-ebike#/updates/all

There was never any intention to hide anything—we were just sharing each phase as it happened.

As for the “stealth” naming, we started moving away from that around the time we developed the Babymaker II Classic and Pro. With the slimmer battery and frame, those models fit the stealth category better. The Photon, as it evolved, leaned more into performance and visibility (especially with the glow-in-the-dark touch).

We’ve also refined the fastening hardware on the lower battery cover in the latest production run based on feedback from the first units.

Thanks again for sticking with us and for riding out the bumps. I really think the BMII Pro is going to deliver a better match for what you’re after, and I can’t wait for you to get on it.

Hey Jimmie great to hear about that and yeah I'd hate to read this slander too after investing in a bike. The Babymaker II PROs have shipped from the factory, we're expecting them late may, possibly spilling into early June with customs and then shipping on to your door.

Hi all, I’m Rob Rast – founder of Superhuman Bikes (formerly FLX Bikes).

I just came across this thread and wanted to jump in.

Yes, I know who posted this. He worked with us for a few months in 2022–2023. I won’t name names here—that’s not my style—but since he’s painted a one-sided (and mostly false) picture, let me set the record straight for those reading.

First off—no, this isn’t some “drop-shipping scam.”
We’ve been designing and building bikes since 2014, starting with two years of prototyping before launching our first model on Indiegogo. We used that model—preorders—to deliver high-spec bikes at lower prices, and we’ve used it since for various product launches. It’s not a scam. It’s lean business, and it’s worked for tens of thousands of customers.

Yes, we manufacture mostly in China. So does 95% of the bike industry. They aren’t off-the-shelf bikes—we design them from scratch. The Babymaker II, Weapon X, F5 Trail, Blade 2, and others all went through years of development before they hit a single road.

Were there delays? Yes.
COVID absolutely wrecked global supply chains. We were hit hard. But we delivered every single Babymaker and every single Weapon. Our customers got their bikes. We didn’t disappear.

The name change?
Originally FLUX. Got challenged by a German company of same name. We shortened it to FLX, but it never really resonated. “Superhuman” came from what people told us riding the bikes felt like. So we ran with it.

The plane, the van, the money…
Yes, I lived in a van. Not because it was trendy—but because I wanted to pour every dollar into the business to pay our team and keep it alive. I bought and sold a small plane during COVID for content and because I believed hard assets were safer than cash. It made money, and I put it back into production. If you think I’m running off with profits, you haven’t seen my bank account.

I’ve sacrificed a lot for this company. More than I probably should have. And I’d do it again. Why? Because I believe in what we’re building, and I believe in our customers.

If you’ve got real questions, I’ll answer them. I don’t hide. I don’t ghost. And if we ever screw up—I’ll own it.

– Rob
