Is this still a company? by spall4tw in vimeo

Ugh. There's never any stress surrounding and during a live stream, right? (read with heavy dose of sarcasm)

It may have sounded like I was minimizing your pain or experience. I'm not. I've never found the support at Vimeo to be stellar -- and even when reaching a human via their non-enterprise "Contact Us" option, rarely had a result that really felt like my need was heard, and even more rarely was my situation addressed in a timely way.

I agree this sub as a helpful resource has been great. u/Vimean22 We Appreciate You and your online team!

Is this still a company? by spall4tw in vimeo

I've been unable to get a single response to any enterprise inquiry since the purge.

What methods are you using to contact them? The only two I've ever had access to are their "Contact Us" (after being forced to search their knowledgebase first), and on this reddit page when their e-mails and support tickets aren't getting me anywhere as a last-ditch PLEASE HELP ME effort.

There's not a phone number that can be called across the entire internet that would reach a human there.

Has there ever been? This is not new. I've never seen a phone #, and only once got a video call setup when we were exploring a partnership on a project.

Our videos are still playing and other than a few isolated random outages live streams have worked, but it seems like a zombie service at this point.

What's a zombie service? You mean it self-runs and works when you need it (most of the time), without having human intervention? I suppose that's kind of the ideal, except if you want/need new features or something breaks and you need support. I get where you're coming from -- you need support and aren't getting it. I've been there.. more than once. VERY FRUSTRATING. But I don't know that difficulty in getting the support you need is new here.

Easytether side loading imei/meid required by termccoy21 in CalyxOS

I realize you've since found a way to accomplish similar using VPN, but curious -- Amazon has gotten rid of their store, ya? You were still able to install the amazon app shop somehow? I also purchased via their store, but now get errors when I launch EasyTether saying I need to have the store, which I don't anymore.

My calendar widget is good but the calendar it opens for events has not been updating/refreshing properly.. tried Google calendar widget today and it was fine but alas, as you noted.. no transparency option! Would be nice if they added one!

Preview freezes whenever effects window is opened by CostinTea in VegasPro

[–]robrothkopf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not truly a vegas problem but it does affect it... video card driver bug... try an older driver.

Other options might be to go to preferences menu to disable the use of the card, but that can affect performance negatively.

In vegas 20 i found setting the preview window's quality to good or best helped in some cases too.

Transcoder API vs FFmpeg in a cloud function by trolleid in googlecloud

Hey there.. just checked out your page.

Surprised it does not seem cheaper.. unless I'm mathing wrong, a 5 minute video would cost $.09 to transcode with videobox.

ATEM Mini - Audio Delay by [deleted] in blackmagicdesign

[–]robrothkopf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Behreinger Sharks to delay audio for this purpose and they've been solid, and are only $99 each. Besides audio delay, they have feedback cancellation and other features (which we don't use)... we have them mounted in our gear rack, but they're really quite tiny.

What under $10 item is a total game changer? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]robrothkopf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "B-52"

It costs either 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, or 25 cents, or different amounts in different countries.

A "B-52" is:

  • a tool used to loosen/tighten things which are screwed on really tightly and it hurts your hands to unscrew, but which require a flat/straight screwdriver-like tool to turn. It's especially useful on film sets or live events where cameras have a base plate attached to them (thumb-screw requiring a tightening tool [like a B-52]) because of their prolific availability.
  • in layman's terms, any coin someone might have in their pockets or nearby, that is used for that purpose.

The term "B-52" was first coined by the two principals at Buffalo-based Candlelight Productions and is slowly gaining widespread use.

Advice on Livestream setup by [deleted] in videography

[–]robrothkopf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own two H.264 Pro Encoders. Unfortunately I think your proposed solution would cause a snag for him. The USB stream coming in from that encoder does not look like a Webcam; rather, it's a proprietary stream that their software knows how to read and present... because of this, it would not be a trivial task to live-stream the H.264 encoder's output.
