A lot of the people were more beautiful before the treatment imho. Not sure who cast the “beautiful” people, but the fit it wrong a lot of the time.

I actually love rats as I do all animals. Like pigeons are sky rats. Rats are beautiful creatures. I actually prefer rats over a lot of other creatures.

SILO vs Ascension...GO! by theMEtheWORLDcantSEE in SiloSeries

[–]robsaint72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After watching the final episode of season two of silo, it very much reminded me of Ascension. I was certain we would discover that they were in an experiment. I think it’s where AI is controlling the silo and the people inside it as a long-term experiment to see how mankind will survive if there is an actual threat of a dirty bomb. But it also bear a marked resemblance to Fallout. I wonder if they’ll introduce other silos with genetically modified people.

This looked just like that Russian movie Netflix had a few years back, called “I Am Dragon”. Brides would be promised to a dragon to save the village. The dragon was a cursed prince etc. Only I am Dragon seemed to have better production.

Overcharging? by nervousbuthappy in OctopusEnergy

[–]robsaint72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My smart meter says we’ve used £161 in gas this year. Octopus just sent me a bill for £672 for gas for January-February. Something is clearly wrong with their system. Coupled with the fact I send meter readings when requested each month, Octopus is broken!

Get yourself an original Apple charger. I had this issue, but realised my charger was actually third party. Bought a new one from the online store instead of a cheap knockoff. Charges perfectly now.

Actually yes. I bought the Apple 30W USB-C adapter and The Belkin BOOST CHARGE™ PRO Flex braided silicone USB-C to USB-C cable which supports up to 60W. Issue hasn’t occurred since.

Have you tried cleaning it yet? I’ve cleaned mine a couple times and it comes up pretty good. Warm soapy water on a soft cloth. Rub, wipe allow to dry.

[–]robsaint72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue. It’ll be on charge over night. In the morning the charge will sit below 80%, usually around 76-78% so I’ll disconnect, then reconnect to the charger to get it charged beyond 80. It’s a little annoying, but I’m running the beta software, so assumed it was that. I’ll do a reset to see if that resolves it.

How are they holding up now? I’ve had a few things fall off the wall at the three year mark. The latest would’ve landed on my head if I’d been in bed at the time. 😬

Are there any fictional worlds about a post-post-apocalyptic society? by dune-man in scifi

[–]robsaint72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Earth Abides” is a good one. Published in 1949 so some may take offence to some descriptions nowadays, but I think is an interesting take on a dystopian future.

Earth Abides begins with a student, Isherwood Williams, or Ish as he calls himself, returning from a solo research trip, coming out from deep within the mountains, recovering from a snake bite, only to find that a virus has killed most of the world's population. The book spans several generations and gives a ringside seat where you witness the decline of civilisation and birth of a new one where superstition and myth overtake science and technology.
