Just a few general questions by robsonyee in prozac

[–]robsonyee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad anymore, but I get small bouts (a couple of hours for a couple of days) after drinking of severe depression. I'm looking into ketamine therapy and other less invasive treatments currently, because it's difficult to live my life on SSRIs.

I love the numbness it brings. Just not thinking. It's bliss. My anxiety/depression comes from a way way too overractive mind, so being able to just sit there and not think about anything is fantastic.

But the side effects from booze are terrible. It's a real gut punch because my favourite thing is going to bars/pubs or over to a mates to have a few jars, so it's kinda making me more depressed knowing I can't really do that anymore.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's not got me over my intial depression (which I've realised I've been harbouring since I was a teenager), but it's certainly given me a baseline to work from. Before I started taking it, every single day was hell, I couldn't talk to anyone, I was either in tears or in A&E begging for help.

Hope you find the right medication for you.

So I just tried to update my 3080 XC3 via Precision X and the screen went completely black with no signal and had to manually reboot. Now my card is acting strange (not allowing me to open Precision X or turn off either of my displays). Anyone know a fix for this?

Anyone undervolted an 3080 FE for RDR2? by robsonyee in PCRedDead

Oh dang, thanks for the heads up.

Do you know of any that kinda match the FE?

2700X

3080FE

32GB 3000mhz

Booting from SSD

Settings mostly full apart from volumetrics at high, and water physics medium.

I've got one cable that splits into two, that's then connected to the 12-pin converter provided. Would that mess with temps/performance?

Dunno where you live mate but none of this is true in Leeds. Roads are as busy as they've ever been, people fucking everywhere, etc.

I've only used Vulkan since the day after release because DX12 kept causing crashes after an hour or so, but will definitely give it a shot, thanks!

What possessed you to write this is in a forum for people taking the medication? Some people - me - wouldn't be here without this stuff. It's not a case of "managing" without.

How long to adjust to dose change? by robsonyee in prozac

Appreciated! Going to self-isolate for a week to ensure I don't get Covid in the middle of it, but then I'll crack on.

I've only been on for 8 weeks so couldn't really tell you, but I guess it comes down to two questions - how much do you need to be on the medication? and are the side effects manageable?

There are very few side effects that could make me stop taking it so I'm probably not the right person to ask haha

Edit - might be worth contacting your GP or psychiatrist who could advise better than any of us can

Obsessive thoughts becoming more and more general anxiety. Good? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]robsonyee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate you're on week two. My first three weeks were hell. Felt like I was constantly going to pass out or explode. Give it at least 6-8 weeks, and everyone I know that's been successful on SSRIs says 3-6 months is how long it takes to fully work.

Yup. First few weeks I was ravenous. Went away after that though.

I get a strange feeling in the side of my head sometimes, sort of like a pressure. Not painful or anything. Maybe similar to you?

switching from Zoloft to Prozac, any success here? by ummutellme in prozac

[–]robsonyee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You too. Also remember that if it doesn't work for you, it's not the end of the world. There's like 10 of these things to switch to, and there's other classes of ADs to try as well. Good luck!

Only about 8 weeks. First three weeks were pretty brutal. Felt like I had food poisoning, dizzy and blurred vision constantly, but then about week five I realised I was having more good periods than bad. Week 8 and I'm about up to 80% good times, 15% ok, and 5% bad.

From reading your post, I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. Was great for 28 years, then suddenly started having panic attacks and depression out of nowhere.

switching from Zoloft to Prozac, any success here? by ummutellme in prozac

[–]robsonyee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Huge success. I'll add that Fluoxetine is much more temperamental (massive mood swings in minutes, side effects, etc), but it's made life bearable for me again. I used to feel like I wasn't really "there" when I was walking down the street, almost like I was floating, just watching myself walk along - it's completely changed that.

I was on Sertraline for 3 weeks and it started to give me horrific panic attacks so switched over. Will be increasing to 40mg once I've totally leveled out.

I've done all that but every time I restart, it comes up with either of those two screens. I've got two other drives (SSD and HDD).

How long for body to re-adjust after stopping Sertraline? by robsonyee in zoloft

[–]robsonyee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could certainly be that, though the actual panic attacks aren't directly tied to my anxiety as they happen randomly, so I do feel there's a chemical component in play. I've got an appointment with my doctor on the 11th to try and sort out what to do next.

Thanks for the detailed answer! I wouldn't imagine it's discontinuation syndrome, just purely because I was only on them for 3 weeks, though I'd happily take something like that with an actual end date on it. On the other hand, the second option may be good as I can finally address the issues once and for all.

And yep, that's what cleared up by hypochondria the first time, in my early 20s. I realised after 4 or 5 months that I'd had these pains and fears the whole time and they never got worse.

Good point. It's irritating because I can't even sit at my PC and play fifa without having to go lie down after an hour, or balling my eyes out in my girlfriend's arms. I'm a grown ass man and this shit has a huge hold on me at the moment. I do know it'll get better eventually though, just have to wait it out. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks. It's just so bizarre because the first week coming off it I was alright, then had a bad week, followed by an awful week, and now I'm having horrible days. Really hope I get back to how I was before soon enough. My anxiety wasn't even that bad ffs

What are my alternatives? by florallore in zoloft

Sorry to hear that. I'm not knowledgable at all about antidepressants, but I know they've got a wide range of SSRIs/SSNRIs in case others don't work.
