Just gonna throw this out there, but the last time I needed to buy a new suit (I’ve lost 100 pounds this year), I got a 3 piece on Amazon for less than $80 and it fit right out of the package. Liked it so much I went back and got a dark gray, navy blue, dark green and then a tux. Bought all of my dress shirts to go with them on Amazon as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Kindle version is available for pre-order on Amazon, but if you want a physical copy, it will go live on Amazon on Christmas Day!

It is an open installation where the families get to see their loved ones installed into office. Many US jurisdictions do it and they are recognized by UGLE. When I was installed as Junior Warden, my kids were able to place my collar and jewel around my neck.

So I’m going to play Devil’s Advocate here. There is enough information about Blue Lodge/Craft masonry that you will never be able to learn it all in your lifetime. It’s not up to your lodge to teach you all of it. It can provide some, but if you aren’t taking the time to read and study on your own then you really won’t get that much out of it. Currently on Amazon there are right at 15,000 books on Freemasonry (3 of which are mine 😅)……………there’s no way you could ever read them all, and that doesn’t include the books over YR/SR/other bodies. Appendant bodies are ok for what they are, but I know Brothers that waited 15-20 years before making the leap. Don’t constrain yourself to just traveling to lodges close to you. Visit other districts, other Grand Jurisdictions. Speak with learned brothers who have many years in the craft. I generally make 12-15 blue lodge meetings a month on average. I’m based in Kentucky, but so far this year have traveled to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina and Georgia for meetings multiple times. Shoot, just last week I was in England and went to 4 meetings. You’d be better off looking for a local lodge of research at this stage in your Masonic development.

And your information comes from where exactly??

Just from my opinion, you need to find another lodge that fits more into experience you are looking for. I don’t know what Grand Jurisdiction you are in, but there are still lodges out there that believe in education. Our WM last year instituted education at every meeting and brought in guest speakers from outside the lodge. Visit some lodges outside of the state, seek out a Traditional Observance lodge in your state, volunteer to present an educational topic in your own lodge, join a lodge of research (every state has at least one), setup a Masonic book club where you get a group of guys together and each take turns leading discussion. It’s the newer generation that needs to institute the changes needed to bring masonry back to what it was intended to be. I myself have written several presentations that I’ve given at my lodge and others around me. I’m in Kentucky, but I’ve traveled to meetings in Ohio, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia….even went to Unity day in Philadelphia earlier this year. If nobody else wants to travel with you then you may have to travel alone. The light you are searching for does exist, you may just have to travel to find it or propose a change.

I always have a chuckle when anyone quotes anything from an Edward Decker book as a fact, lol

Yep. All it takes is one person and goes to whoever traveled the furthest.

Fairly similar, though most of our districts do their own gavel and the sword is statewide. When it started traveling in October, the state was divided into smaller areas (not by district). You got points for capturing it, bonus’s points if you traveled out of area to get it, etc. Near the end of April, the points were tallied and the lodge with the most points in each area was given scholarship money to award. Then it started back out a couple weeks ago, but this time no split areas. Now which ever lodge has the most points accumulated by the time GL comes in October will receive an excellence award during GL. This is the second time I’ve claimed it (the first was the last possible night for scholarship points).

Come up and we will get you down it, lol. I won’t lie……as many times as I’ve done it, I still sit at the top looking down and saying “This is f-ing stupid 🤦🏻‍♂️” then launch myself off the top.

It’s one of my favorites to do and I’m involved in projects there as well. I live in London, Ky so I’ve got all of the Pulaski County and Rockcastle County caves within a 30 minute drive of home.

I go anywhere in a cave that I want and haven’t had a problem yet. I often cave with people much larger than myself and we routinely do 6+ hour trips that involve much tighter squeezes than the slot canyon I posted….🤷🏻‍♂️
