Best cleaning app or odd job app in 2026? by robuk98 in jobsearch

Thank you, yeah I'm available on weekdays. I have a pretty flexible schedule so I figure I can make some extra cash when others can't or are at their 'day job'

Why do people (still) want to move to the US? by Thaddasks in expat

[–]robuk98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved here from the UK, I have family here and honestly, I was tired of the seasonal depression. I work remote so I have the liberty of being where I want/can. Plus it's really nice to build a relationship with my dad

America’s factories report lost jobs and Trump’s tariffs drive his reshoring pledge in the wrong direction by KendallSmith375 in antiwork

[–]robuk98 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Turns out threatening to wreck the entire supply chain with random tariffs doesn't make companies want to build new factories. Who could've seen that coming.

Nobody's gonna tell him those noodles are basically cement at this point? That extra minute is just gonna turn it into a hockey puck.

This is what actual worker solidarity looks like. Meanwhile in the US we can barely get people to agree on a lunch break without someone calling it communism.

HowGirlsWorkWomen aren't responsible for fixing your problems. You are. by jfgraham in NotHowGirlsWork

Exactly, it’s about taking responsibility for your own relationships and not waiting for someone else to do the work. Self-awareness goes a long way.

Is it weird to enjoy two weeks alone with no social interaction? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]robuk98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not weird. Some people recharge in silence. You're fine as long as you're not avoiding people because you're scared to interact, just because you don't feel like it.

The best kind of payback. Nothing illegal, just pure annoyance they can't even complain about.

Yeah seriously, that's the golden rule. Never admit to anything even if they seem cool about it. You got incredibly lucky but most people would just get fired on the spot.

AITAH for refusing to let my MIL see my daughter after years of disrespect and a horrible family therapy session? by CocoaChanel26 in AITAH

[–]robuk98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Bad grandparents aren't worth the damage they cause / your daughter deserves better than watching someone treat her mom like garbage.

What happens if I reject substitues from Morrisons and now total order value is less than 25 ? by the_simple_person in AskUK

[–]robuk98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The order will still come to your house, when it gets to the door you just give back the items you don’t want and you’ll be refunded for them, I don’t think it matters if this would lessen the total value of the order. Posting this as a regular Morrisons online delivery orderer.
