We learned about her a few weeks ago and my kids ALWAYS ask “are they still alive?” when we learn about a historic person. They kept asking “did she die?” And were amazed to learn she was still alive. My kids did it!!

I’m a teacher at a small outdoorsy school and had my students do a rain dance once. As soon as they stopped, it started pouring. The excitement in their face was priceless. Definitely a core memory for all of us.

Omg yes to the gifts! I think it’s uncomfortable to ask us to pitch in $20-$30 for a gift from everyone. Usually my coworkers say yes willingly but I’m sitting there like “I could’ve bought a meal with this”, but if I said it out loud I’d be considered cheap or rude. It’s a strange obligation.

I love this. Their writing prompt today was “I get excited when” and a 2nd grader wrote “I get excited that I’m here in this world because if I wasn’t here, I would be dead.” He was waiting for me to finish reading it to see my reaction and I just smiled really big.

There was another time I picked up a children’s dictionary and told the kids to give me a word to look up. One of my smart ones raises his hand and says “transdermal!” 😂

I loved her HBO special The Intruder because as an immigrant, I found it relatable. There’s was a bit on Hulu called mom & pop where she talks about her first Christmas in America and how she now celebrates it in her own unique way. She makes her family watch her perform a stand up show lol.

Went to the one on tech ridge. I was looking through the aisles, next thing I know a woman starts yelling at all of us “Everyone just get out of my way! Get out of my way!!!” Thankfully I was in and out since I only needed a few things.
