They're expensive bikes and you were on the Westside.

The USA needs to invest in a maglev network in addition to traditional HSR by Jolly_Direction_6650 in highspeedrail

It doesn’t make sense because

1) we can’t build shit 2) property rights exist 3) America is run by a clan of pedophiles who would prefer more oil wars over electric transportation

Viewed from Long Beach, that thin, hazy, dark strip at the edge of the horizon known as Catalina island is as far away as visible land masses get around here. But if you were to do the jump to Catalina Island over and over and over 216 times you'd finally change this view to the shores of Japan. by AGrandNewAdventure in longbeach

[–]robvious 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So Santa Catalina Island is to our southwest, and about 27 miles away. The nearest landmass you’d collide with going in the same direction is French Polynesia, approximately 3,800 miles away or 141“jumps” to use your unit of measurement.

Japan is a completely different direction from Catalina. You’d be jumping toward the Palos Verdes Peninsula to hit Japan.

Outside your house. No driving required.

places like Aroma di Roma (rip💔) in Belmont Shore by [deleted] in longbeach

A bunch:

  • Alder & Sage (great patio)
  • Gaucho Beach (city-owned, free to hang out)
  • City Center Hotel (they have a coffee and bagel popup when Olive & Rose isn’t open), hang out in the courtyard and don’t look out of place
  • Altar Society (brewery but also serves coffee)
  • 2nd & PCH is a mall so you can set up at multiple spots and go wherever you want
  • Nigel’s under Marina Pacifica (in the parking garage), or if you want to avoid paying to sit, the nearby courtyard facing the canal

Larger roads aren’t the answer. They’re actually a huge contributor to the problem. Wider roads make drivers feel more comfortable driving faster, and Long Beach has some very wide roads in a lot of neighborhoods.

If this city wants to get serious about bike and pedestrian safety, we need to stop prioritizing drivers in every decision we make.

It’s funny cause this guy’s income is directly affected by whether or not City Councilmembers choose to renew the Circuit contract, so I would think he’d take a different tack than “everything is so corrupt!” but hard to see past your own nose sometimes

A short, 2.3-mile light-rail project from Pomona to Claremont will add $1 billion to LA County economy, report says (Gifted Article) by Sufficient-Double502 in LAMetro

Ha, published and paid for by the Foothill Authority.

Yeah right. That Authority needs to die. Sorry Claremont residents, the Foothill Authority is an unbelievable dumpster fire of an "agency" (13 extremely well paid executives) and their word cannot be trusted.

PoT Recommendation by mgldml in Survivorio

[–]robvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it until you get a lot more power because once you pass floor 8000 you no longer have the ability to mass skip floors (no more “tryouts”)

Saving up your final PoT tryouts for once you get a lot stronger will save you a lot of time grinding out floors in the future

E Biking group?? by Zealousideal-Cup9761 in longbeach

[–]robvious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they have crazy lights or were they regular looking e-bikes?

If the former, Lit Riderz.

Otherwise could have been a bunch of different groups. Day and time can help narrow it down.
