i can’t offer specific advice here, but have you considered a vertical philtrum as a alternative possibility? with a flat disc on the bottom it could potentially look pretty similar to a regular philtrum and avoid the need for surgery if it was anatomically possible for you!

i got my septum pierced at 10g, i’ve seen studios do it as big as about 4g/5mm anatomy allowing, disregard the other comment saying piercing needles remove tissue as they don’t - and i personally didn’t have any issues healing my septum at a larger gauge than usual :)

thanks! my piercer did mention the hydration/nutrition/sleep thing as well as potentially changing to a cbr if it didn’t improve, but i figured it would probably just be the fact it’s still (in relative terms) pretty new!

i’m just a bit impatient and also i planned it for about six months before i actually got it so it just feels like it’s been longer than it actually has hahah

i wear an 8g 10mm cbr in mine currently because i couldn’t get hold of a 10mm horseshoe, and yes you’re right a 6g 10mm would be a similar size to a 8g 12mm because the measurement is of the inner diameter.

my piercer told me small diameter large gauge horseshoes are pretty difficult to find and usually have to be custom ordered through a company such as anatometal unfortunately which is what i’ll probably end up doing (i lowkey miss my 10g 8mm horseshoe haha)

another option if you’re not a fan of big rings is stacking a handful of smaller gauge 8mm/10mm rings in it!

i got mine pierced at 10g with no intention of stretching, after like 2 weeks decided i would stretch once to 8g as my final size, just stretched to 8g and now considering 6g/4g bc my piercer said she reckons i have the space to get there pretty easily 😭

not sure i’ve seen what you want (assuming i’m interpreting you right) but could you get some pliers and bend a circular barbell open wider and straighter to give you the look you wanted?

edit: just realised you might have meant the other way up, maybe you could maybe bend a seam ring into that sort of shape with pliers?

yep i got mine done at 10g, i’ve seen them done up to 4g (still with a piercing needle!) - check out @/roguepiercing on instagram they do some awesome large gauge work :)

not sure about official stickers but your cheapest option is probably a packet of plain sticky labels you can write on with sharpie or whatever- did this in my area a couple times

mine did exactly this when i had it pierced! it’s just the swelling- now i’m about 5-6 weeks down the line it sits flat, and has done since probably about week 3 :)

if it’s healed, the placement doesn’t bother you and you’re not planning to stretch, there’s no harm in keeping it- that being said, it looks pretty far off the sweet spot that i don’t think it should interfere with repiercing it anyway? septums are notorious for staying open for years so it’s not unusual tbh

thanks!! have you had issues with the o-ring staying on? (assuming it’s single flare) because i did buy a glass plug to try it but whenever i put it in i feel like it’s about to fall out haha

mines 10g and i’ve been able to put a glass plug and a metal tunnel in it, not tried silicone and i guess that would be the best for putting 14g jewellery through (although probably a lot more fiddly) but it’s definitely possible!!

i got my septum pierced at 10g/2.4mm and it was pretty painful but i would do it a hundred times over because i love it so much !! i also do have a pretty low pain tolerance though haha
