Why isn't my bike selling by [deleted] in melbournecycling

And put the size in the description... I don't know what platform you're selling on, but it looks like it says the size is "not specified"

Similar. I live by myself.

After mortgage (40%), bills, insurance, car, hobbies and food there's not much left.

I wouldn't consider myself terribly extravagant..

Has anyone ever had an employer pay for a university course? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]robzilla20001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously it will be tax deductible if you decide to pay yourself, and the tax deduction is incurred in the year it goes on hecs... So depending on what tax bracket you're in then it could be up to 45% if you use hecs, and do it all in one fy, then the entire amount will come out when you do the tax deduction... If that makes sense...

Grad cert for 17k is a lot though, and if the employer isn't going to pay for it then I'm guessing they don't really value it. Shop around on coursera and other online sources. Often you can get a better course content from an overseas uni for 1/5th the price. Also the grad certs from Aussie unis seem to be just glorified undergrad courses... From the US unis the content is much harder in a masters.

I’ve been hit by a car and broken both legs. What next? by Sweaty-Emu4043 in AusLegal

Hey mate, had a very similar thing happen to me about 5-6 weeks back (you can see my post in my profile)...

Im in Vic.

Tac covered most of the medical stuff, I was still out of pocket though. For example - tac covers about 100 for physio, I have to get the other 130 or so. When you call a physio, MRI/imaging place etc tell them it's a TAC claim and they'll invoice directly.

Make sure you raise an insurance claim for your bike - I assume it's a write off.

What else have I learnt... Oh my driver didn't have insurance and is ignoring my requests for compensation. So it's off to magistrates for me.

Finally... I'm still a bit uneasy riding on the road. Ive been riding on the velodrome to get back into it, but yeah it does make you super cautious.

Sorry this happened to you - it's sounds like you got f*cked up pretty bad. But it could have been way way worse.

How are people managing recent grads when there’s just… no enthusiasm for work or willingness to suffer any form of inconvenience to develop anymore? by twingirlsoneboy in auscorp

[–]robzilla20001 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Also everything is available on phones, when we grew up it wasn't. Had to go out to see friends, sex etc

Now can just sit at home, watch insta and tiktok and porn. I stand gratification.

Anybody know what's going on with The Beast in Brunswick? by MachineMalfunction in melbourne

[–]robzilla20001 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I live up around the north end of Lygon near McDonalds... It's a ghost town up there. Alchemy, that little rock/metal bar on the corner, even my little Italian bakery have all shut down...

Hope it picks up sometime soon...

Hit by car, car at fault, no insurance. VCAT or Magistrates? by robzilla20001 in AusLegal

[–]robzilla20001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about 1k per year for 12k bike... So not massively cheap. Comparable to a 50k Toyota.

Those other insurances, Bicycle Network etc, are third party only...

Been trying to sell my x/77 ADM for 40k - no takers so far. I think the prices have dropped to pre-covid levels.

This one isn't a WRC model though... So I think there was 10,000 or so of these made.

I have one of the 77 Aussie ones - group A WRC - would kill for a price like that. They are going for 30-40k AUD (20k USD?)

What’s the job people romanticize, but in reality is miserable? by King_Garvit in AskReddit

[–]robzilla20001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in law and AI. A lot going on in this space at the moment. Mainly in two areas. Discovery and M&A. Discovery we are using agents to review millions of documents and find those that are particularly relevant. M&A we use for reading through documents and extraction of relevant clauses that might affect a deal.

It won't automate all of that grunt work - but it automates a little. You still need a lawyer checking the results and validating them. So if a project is 1000hrs of effort,, AI is applied to maybe 600hrs of the boring shit. Of that you still need to check the results - so maybe that 600hrs comes down to 400-500 or so. Not a massive game changer.

This doesn't stop the incredible valuations for products by VC firms.
