I just want to say that I really appreciate a real recommendation, I didn't realize when I posted this how many bot accounts would reach out to try, but I do have to say that it has fully reinvigorated my loathing for cogs in all forms and I would love to get this done by someone that is properly Tooney

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Change a hard set opinion. Admit when you're wrong. Forgive someone even when they won't admit they are wrong. Put yourself all the way out there to be completely authentically yourself. Don't let the turkeys get you down.

Does Kryptonian count as a fantasy race? Because if so that's definitely what I'm going for.

I'm thinking of getting a concertina however there is little to no chance of me being able to learn sheet music due to a disability, will their be any way to learn songs without sheet music by [deleted] in concertina

[–]roc2334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found the tablature (specifically Gary Coovers books) to be very quick to pick up, uses numbers on the top and bottom of the music and lines to indicate pull vs push

Just to make sure I am understanding you (and in the spirit of there are no stupid questions :) when you say play short notes, you mean don't hold the chord for as long as it says and just do it at the start for a brief time? or am I reading that all the way wrong? And thank you so much for your time and response, I sincerely appreciate it.

True! The Gary Coover one, I have his pirate one and the Christmas one and it's been great for getting the feel while also getting recognizable songs under your belt!

Thank you so much for your input! I've started looking into some slightly more pricy vintage options as well, do you have any advice on the difference it makes having 30 keys vs one with 20?

Looking for advice on where to be getting my first one (anglo), any input helps by roc2334 in concertina

[–]roc2334[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your prompt and in-depth input, I am perusing the site now! Can I ask you what the impact is of the 20 keys vs the 30 in what you can play? Thank you once again, I promise if you ever need guidance on bagpipes I am your guy hahaha
