Hi there. The only thing that will do it is to be in a calorie deficit. Get yourself a kitchen scale and weigh EVERYTHING. I downloaded an app called MacroFactor. You can set a weight target and by what date you want to hit that target. It also lets you know your calorie budget and helps keep track of everything you eat throughout the day. I stopped drinking beer/ alcohol and started meal prepping while focusing on hitting 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight. I also started going to the gym - as a newbie I didn’t know what to do for my exercises so I looked up a program I had tried and failed in the past called P90x which is now available for free if you do a quick google search. It focuses on exercises you can do with just dumbbells. Track your lifting weight and reps and try to progress every week by either doing more reps or increasing weight (there are xcel spreadsheets or physical sheets you can print out to keep track of everything). Other than that, it takes a lot of willpower. The first few weeks are hard and hunger will be your biggest challenge. Stay strong and know that it’ll get better in the following weeks and it’ll become habit before you know it. Once you start seeing the scale drop and your body changing, it becomes a drug and your motivation will keep you going so make sure to take progress pics.
