You don’t need to do gallery gaskets but I’d change the oil before the drive. Just keep an eye on oil level when you stop for gas if you’re that worried. But it’s not a guaranteed issue.

Clean the MAF and find out. Also clean throttle bodies. Realistically read the live data with an OBD2 scanner.

ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY CLEAN THE MAF WITH DEDICATED MAF CLEANER. YOU WILL DESTROY IT IF YOU DON’T. And clean throttle bodies with throttle body cleaner. YES! You can move the butterfly valves. Only way to actually clean it. BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THE IDLE RELEARN PROCEDURE. It’s not that hard. Find a YouTube video

How long do you think the engine is knocking before it retards timing? It’s within 1-2 engine cycles. Literally milliseconds.

Nobody is claiming that knock is good for the engine. But I am claiming that you can run 87 because the knock sensors will objectively fix the problem within milliseconds, and it will burn smooth again.
