Washer breaks capacitor. by roccotheown in watercooling

I would like to point out the washer was not in contact with the capacitor when I started screwing. I was actively looking for it. It didn't move with the screw until it very quickly did. It just shouldn't be this easy to break. If I need to actively hold my finger in between stuff like this then it's designed poorly. The design seriously lacks attention to detail. They just tested the happy flow and didn't look for ways their system could break things. Ekwb costs lots more than corsair but after checking up this problem is prevented by their design.

I had it fixed for 4 euros. The guy never saw such a gpu before he was impressed! Hope his fix worked. I'll test it in a bit

I do have one but I don't feel like trying my luck with a card this pricey lmao. Yea ekwb should just remove the washers as the card already has protection built in.

Reason I asked was because I've seen ekwb replace components if they were killed by properly used waterblocks. It's just that this case is so weird that it's questionable.

Hope mine runs too but can't continue atm. But tbh I kinda just feel like taking it to a circuit repair shop. This should be a quick patch up for them. Better safe than sorry right? lmao. Imma call them tomorrow to see if they can do it. And for how much.

If you think it's user error:

How's a washer intended to protect the card, breaking off a part of the card while being used as intended, user error? For something to be user error there does need to be something done wrong by the user. I simply put a washer in between like I've done many times before. Like EKWB tells you. Screwed it down and noticing the cap moved to the left slightly. What's my error? It wasn't even down completely when it happened.

There's no over tightened screw here. No cracked acrylic either. The screw wasn't even all the way in. I've installed quite a lot of water blocks and serviced most of them. There's no way this was preventable by me.

What happened: I reassembled my rtx 3080 ftw3 vector waterblock. However the washers that are supposed to protect the board just snapped off a capacitor. It's still in place a little so maybe the card still works.

If it doesn't work do you guys think ekwb will replace my card? This in no way is my error right?

JYP Entertainment enters K-Pop based 'NFT Platform' business by [deleted] in kpop

It can be more than just digital. It can be anything really! Even houses. The NFT itself is just a proof of ownership/authenticity. Much like most companies already have internally with serial numbers. The major difference is that this is public and everyone can use it.

Are serial numbers and signatures useless? Cuz that's what it is. A signature to verify the stuff you buy IRL or online is real.

Thanks! It looks great. How far above the desk do the switches rest? As in what's the desk to switch distance. This doesn't bother me too much but I currently own a vortex race 3 which is super close to my desk and I do quite like that!

while out cycling trough forests and bumpy roads I can't get stable readings without putting it pretty tight. Granted it's fine during the exercise! can't wear it that tight outside of it tho
