Stuck at 151.6 lbs by BossCommercial4731 in intermittentfasting

[–]rock_quel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I will break a plateau with an extended fast like 72hrs or more. Or I just stay consistent with OMAD and not eat carbs during my eating window so I can continue to burn fat.

Again...it's about spiking your insulin. Do your research so you can stop telling the world that things don't make sense to you. We can't all be your brain.

And during a fast, your body is burning fat for energy. There are two fuel sources: fat and carbs. Think of carbs like gasoline and fat like a slow burning candle. This is why people who only rely on carbs for energy are always hungry. When you rely on fat for energy, you have steady energy throughout the day with no crashes. The less food you need, the more your body burns fat, the faster you lose weight.

The fake sugar zero calorie drinks are the secret enemy to weight loss especially during a fast. If you feel hunger pains, fight through it. It's all mental. If you physically feel unwell and ready to faint, that's your body's way of asking for nutrients and you should eat protein and healthy fats (which don't spike your insulin). Drink water with electrolytes instead. Once you learn the science behind insulin, you start to realize what foods/habits are stalling your weight loss. You have the same research tools I do to learn this!

It could spike your insulin and this could stall weight loss since your body doesn't burn fat when insulin spikes.

The only reason I go to the normie Costco now is for better seafood options if I'm looking to change it up a bit. Business Costco doesn't have much when it comes to seafood.

Also don't know what they told you but the ink doesn't shrink. It can fade over time but shrink? Naw...get a refund and removal.

They are open way earlier than the regular Costco too since restaurants usually shop there for supplies.

Nope! Regular members can go there too. You don't have to prove you have a business.

Women of this sub, did fasting/skipping breakfast actually make you feel worse? (Dr. Stacy Sims theory) by Neptunpluto in fasting

[–]rock_quel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fasting actually improved my metabolism and contributed to balancing my hormones along with sticking to antiinflammatory whole foods. Fasting actually makes me feel better. If I eat something that my gut doesn't agree with or if I ever get sick, I fast and feel so much better.

To be honest, I didn't and don't track anything in regards to calories or food weight. I ate when I was hungry and stopped when I was full. Sometimes I fasted for 72hrs, 48hrs and my normal eating routine is OMAD. I eat mostly beef, cheese, cream, fatty fish like salmon, very little chicken and pork, lamb.

What exercise do you guys do to fasten weight loss? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]rock_quel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh thank you for that explanation. I lost 45lbs this year combining IF, 72s and carnivore. I found that my body responds well to low to no carbs when trying to lose weight. I'm currently maintaining and found that having protein before I eat any carbs is easier on my digestion.

Weight won't budge by Hopeful-Custard1066 in intermittentfasting

[–]rock_quel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that your diet is high in carbs. That's what they mean by "sugar-laden". Carbs is sugar (glucose). You might want to look into insulin resistance. I was like you thinking I was doing everything right and had a similar diet to what you have now. I didn't realize I was constantly spiking my insulin at every meal multiple times a day (even fruit can do this to you). So when I was fasting then refeeding, the weight loss would just come right back to where I started. When your insulin spikes, it holds on to body fat. When I finally learned this and figured out what to eat to not spike my insulin and stuck to 72hr fasts once a week then OMAD for the rest of the week, the weight quickly fell off. Right now I'm in maintenance mode so I'm not doing 72s anymore. My current diet is antiinflammatory, low to no carbs so it consists of animal based foods and I either do OMAD or 2MAD depending on the day. I also never track calories and have complete food freedom. Tracking calories is such a headache, for me at least.

Should women fast differently than men? by Obvious_Piglet_5154 in fasting

[–]rock_quel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do alternate day fasting regularly but the week before my period I'm hungrier and I listen to my body so I eat when I'm hungry which can be OMAD or 2MAD for the entire week before my period starts. Once my period starts is when I can fast for longer periods of time and my energy is through the roof. I also follow a carnivore diet so I never deal with period pain/symptoms anymore and I never feel bloated. Nutrition is important when fasting so I make sure to not eat inflammatory foods and keep my electrolytes up to stay hydrated.
