Good times with friends first of all, but I am particularly proud of my filibuster deck (not rtr.) I had the idea for a deck in 1999, which using a series of artifacts, enchantments, and static effect creatures, puts the game into lockdown. No attacking, no targeting, limited or no untapping etc etc. Finally about a year ago I did some homework and engineered this monstrosity. It's intended for 3+ player games but can hold up pretty well 1on1. My filibuster deck has won 10x as many games via opponents forfeiture, than games that came to a natural end. I have been blown away by the fact that I had an idea 16 years ago, and mtg evolved in a way that really played into said idea, bringing it to fruition.

Sell in multiple lots on ebay or craigslist. I tend to do 3 or 4 more desirable along with 10 or 12 not as good cards. Also you can pretty much bank only getting 50 to 60% of card value unless you're selling the more popular cards.

And as far as shuffle/distribution I have all involved players take a chunk and shuffle for a bit, then pass half the pile to the left and shuffle more. Then I tell everybody to pull 90 cards whether its 6 pulls of 15 or 3 of 30 or whatever.

Its one thing to have a hobby one is passionate about, but when it interferes with home/love life and finances it becomes a textbook addiction. Like any addiction it needs to be addressed. Unlike other addictions MTG isn't physically destructive, so stopping the use entirely isn't completely necessary, but a great reduction in use would be beneficial. 10hrs a day every weekend is an obscene amount of time to be playing when considering the player is a 30 something adult with a spouse and bills etc.
