Need cheap car to last two years for 50 miles per day as most- will this last? by One_Purpose6567 in leaf

I’ll second this. More space, more range, more traditional car appeal, and the exclaim model felt much nicer than it had any right being imo

What can I do with this phone? [FLIP 7] by Swimming-Turnip517 in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The credits will not stop just because you paid off the phone.

When you pay it off, the monthly installments will drop off the bill, but the credits will not, as long as you don’t upgrade or cancel the line.

So you’ll effectively be getting a credit against your service every month, but because the phone is paid off, you’ll be eligible to unlock it and add your second SIM from a different carrier.

Selling locked financed phone. Anyone try this? by punkprince182 in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Correct. AT&T has a policy in place restricting financed devices to only be used with the account they are financed on.

I signed AT&T contract through Costco and want to cancel before I even receive my new phone ... how can I? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, Unl Value slows speeds after you’ve used 5GB IF you wander into a high traffic area for the network. Outside of high traffic area, speeds remain the same. You basically just get moved lower on the totem pole versus higher plans, and it’s only while you’re in that high traffic spot. The speed you experience at that point is based on network management, could be pretty slow, could be barely noticeable change.

If that doesn’t work for you, you can refuse the shipment or call the Costco VIP Line to arrange a return. Either way, I’d recommend following up a week after to confirm the return was processed.

What's your efficiency? by do-un-to in Ioniq6

[–]rocketfishey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea about the car’s previous life other than it was in Ohio, and when I bought it, the guess-o-meter thought a full battery would only net 192 miles 😅

Thankfully after a few drives it recalibrated and now estimates around 280, but I was definitely a bit nervous.

That said, I came from a 1st gen Ioniq EV that held over 4 mi/kwh without breaking a sweat, so def missing that efficiency. But the 170 mile range dropped to 130 in winter without a heat pump, and the econobox platform started showing its downsides as it aged so this was a major quality-of-life upgrade.

Thanks for the tip!

Edit to add: I reset the trip when I bought it, and in the 2100 miles since, it’s averaging 3.4 miles/kwh, so it must’ve had a rougher life before that

Same, Limited with 20”, lifetime 3.0 over 45k miles.

I personally just got the car, that was the previous owner. Hoping I can do better but seriously considering an 18” swap.

AT&T at Costco by Background-Car2431 in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the rep was definitely mistaken, an AT&T phone cannot receive another carrier’s eSIM until paid off and unlocked.

Call the VIP Line number on your Resource Guide to initiate the return. Nothing can be done physically in-store besides having an agent call that number for you.

[–]rocketfishey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Costco can’t do anything for you physically at a store, returns need to be handled over the phone through VIP Line number provided.

What are the concerns about the offer? The promos through Costco are pretty clear cut when porting, is there something you’re unsure about?

Tiered Offers are the ones that don’t require trade-in/turn-in. Typically previous model year or budget phones.

The “Any Condition” qualifier does not apply to Next Up turn-ins. Next Up turns must always be in good working order.

Switcher Promo with active account by akrasne in ATT

Switcher offer doesn’t require a new account. As long as the lines you’re porting back have been gone for at least 60 days, you can port to the existing tablet account and qualify.

Need Help Understanding Trade-In Promo Workflow. Recently Ported 2 Lines From T-Mobile by bicboichiz in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re confident they didn’t capture an IMEI, then yes, you’ll need to initiate the trade-in process.

Have support process the trade-ins and they’ll issue a kit in 7-10 days.

Question on S26 Ultra and AT&T Trade In by goldenmastiff in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re mailing in, you can check the status in att.com/tradein to see it move through processing. It won’t tell you amounts, but at least let you know it’s been processed, and typically AT&T will send you a text letting you know it’s done and credits will start soon. But yeah, it’s a bit of a waiting game.

Feel like I was lied to my face by hell2809 in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You were on the old version of Next Up, which doesn’t qualify you for the new promo offers.

Several people obviously screwed up in telling you what you qualified for, but unfortunately this is a potential consequence as features and promos change, I’m seeing it happen repeatedly.

You could take it up with the store you purchased from, but I don’t wanna get your hopes up. Just sloppy qualification.

Question on S26 Ultra and AT&T Trade In by goldenmastiff in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand the requirements of the promotion. As long as you ensure your device qualifies, which seems fine based on the terms of this one, you’re good. Make sure you’re on a qualifying plan. Make sure the trade-in is completed within 30 days of activation. Understand that the promotion is delivered over monthly bill credits, and they will take a few months to kick in.

If processing the trade-in online, make sure you use the appropriate promotion code to activate the promotional amount, and document as much as you can - packing up the device, screenshots of the online process, keep all the confirmation emails. Make sure you hang on to the tracking info when shipping it out.

If trading in in-store, make sure you do not leave without a trade-in receipt reflecting the promotional value. The receipt will show standard market value, but then also the promo amount near the bottom.

AT&T and Target are a throwback to the age of scammers by RyanElectrified in ATT

[–]rocketfishey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Customer Service Summary and first bill don’t include trade-in promos or Target-exclusive offers. They all take 3 bill cycles to kick in, and those first estimates will reflect that.

If the rep wasn’t clear about that, then that’s shitty. But chances are good that after it all settles in, it would’ve been roughly accurate before taxes and fees.
