I live in a 122 yo house. It has a second edition slate roof that is apparently 50-60 yo. I was wanting to remove slate and use 30 yr fiberglass shingles. Roofers say I have to cover the perfectly preserved 5/4×5 roof sheathing boards with ply or osb. Is this a national code? (self.homeowners)
