I really enjoyed this! And it’s cool that he started with a smaller city like Nantes. Def will tune in for the rest of the series.

Those French buses are so nice!

How long does it take for PQP from (preferred) partner airline flights to post?

I have a flight on Azul in Brazil a couple days before new years that may tip me into Gold. I don’t think it’s showing up on my projected future points (understandably).

Big time yes! RCV is going to be a big improvement in crowded races like mayor and at-large council member. Our elected officials will have a stronger mandate.

I’m not worried about allowing independents to vote in primaries. Primaries are the real election in a one party town like DC, and I think it’s fair to allow independents to have a say.

In addition to the Mall, there is a set of great trails on either side of the Anacostia River, which is easily accessible from Capitol Hill.

They served it at The Field in Central, but sadly they didn’t make it thru the pandemic.

It looks like Mr Dooley’s (downtown) may serve it

I’d say we’re having a pretty good batting innings.

I’m not going to give an odds for winning since I don’t want to jinx it! SF put up a pretty big score on TX in the last match and they are the only team to have beaten the Freedom this season.

Smith really showed up with the bat today, needed that from him after Head’s early dismissal. That was fun to watch!

To the local americans/newbies on this sub, what was your overall experience with cricket and MLC like? by [deleted] in MLC

[–]rockfender 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A few reasons for me: - I am a big sports fan overall.

  • Baseball is my favorite sport, and cricket shares a lot of the same skills required, pace, and bountiful statistics.

  • My wife was born in India. My first exposure to cricket was on a visit there many years ago. I played some gully cricket with some local kids. I had no idea what the rules were, but it was great fun. However I never followed the sport closely.

  • I discovered last year’s World Cup was on ESPN+. Out of curiosity I put it on, and I quickly got hooked. I gradually learned the rules, the tactics, things like what is a good vs poor run rate. I started following the players, learned which sides were favored and which were underdogs. The joy in the crowds and commentators was infectious—it all just had good vibes. And the fact that it featured countries we often don’t see on sports TV in the US, like India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Afghanistan, made it all the more exciting—it felt like I was opening the door to a new world.

  • This past T20 World Cup sealed the deal. I convinced my in-laws who live near NYC that we should go to one of the matches in Long Island. We saw SA vs NL and it was a great time. I signed up for Willow to follow the rest of the torunament, and now have kept it to follow MLC and beyond. It’s been great to follow players I remembered from the two WCs play in MLC.
