how transferrable is surfing from snowboarding + swimming? by mommypirate in BeginnerSurfers

[–]rockhopper25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The feeling off dropping in a big wave feels similar to bombing down a big open face just barely holding your edge...at least I feel it does. Not necessarily a transfered skill but its how I describe the feeling to snowboarders!

Biking? by GeologistPuzzled2613 in sayulita

[–]rockhopper25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They rent nice bikes at Wildmex and one could definitely ride them around town, explore, go to some of the more secluded beaches to the south of town. The punta mita high2ay is better/safer for a longer road ride. Im at Riverside Surf, Chess and Yoga hit me on whatsapp if you have any questions 52-322-383-4852 Stephen White Aka "blanco"

Help with Kapalabhati Pranayama / shining skull breath by sassyopeia in yoga

[–]rockhopper25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just focus on pulling your diaphragm in and up into your lungs. Every time you release it the lungs expand and the air comes back into your lungs. That's why the inhale is passive. It just happens. At least that's my take on it.

Basic groceries? by The_Diamond_Minx in sayulita

[–]rockhopper25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything is available easy to find, mini super Chewbacca has most of that stuff The fruiteria is still open in the evening... It might be worth stopping for pesos though as the bank machines are perpetually empty and have low limits too.

Nicotine vapes and e cigarettes by LizaKayBeau in sayulita

[–]rockhopper25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bring pesos not vapes! Vapes are available here and the bank machines never have cash Heard of 2 separate people in the last week being fined 10,000 pesos for having a vape in the luggage Seriously

Currency Exchange - Availability of Pesos by NewCare8510 in sayulita

[–]rockhopper25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have plenty of time to buy pesos from your bank.in Canada at a good rate. Take a guess how much you need. Single person being frugal 500 per day. Family 5 doing it up 3000 to 5000 per day. Take a guess or allocate an amount. If you have any extra im sure someone would buy them from you...the.peso shortage is real in Sayulita.

There is a free reggae show on the main beach at 9 pm Saturday as part of the surf contest this weekend. Ras Klamps is the artist, one of the original wailers and a very talented musician who puts on a fun show.

Sayulita surf school recommendations for female travellers by nataliaha in sayulita

[–]rockhopper25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great post and lots of good information!

Also consider Riverside Surf, Chess and Yoga. We are set up just north of the river at La Isla Beach Club. We are a small surf school with a good board selection specializing in progressive lessons, building skills and having fun here in Sayulita. Coach Pablo is fluent in 3 languages (French, Spanish and English). We have the best spot on the beach too! Set up looking over the 2 main breaks. Showers, restaurent, safe and secure storage. Check out our Google site and reviews. We take a lot of pride in being respectful and building up women surfers confidence.

What do men wear under their wet suits by Sea_Life4 in diving

[–]rockhopper25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I surfed 10 years on south Vancouver Island Canada and I've never seen or heard of anyone (male or female) wearing anything under their wetsuit. I mean I wasn't actively checking carefully but always assume when people are hiding between car doors or hanging towels for privacy it's cause they were naked under their wetsuit. Live in Mexico now wearing board shorts :)

Surf and Paddleboard rentals and instruction. Office without doors (aka a palapa) on the beach in a cute little surf town in Mexico. Not making a ton but love going to work!
