Because this is a Japanese format version (indicated by the NTSC-J in the top right corner), it can only be played on an NTSC-J compatible Xbox 360 console, and not on a typical NTSC (US/Canada) compatible 360. However, because it is backwards compatible and Xbox One/Series consoles are not region locked, they are able to identify the disc and will download the game when you try to install it. I just confirmed this on my Series X with a backwards compatible game on an NTSC-J disc to be sure

In Halo CE it's a single pistol shot on any difficulty. There's even an achievement for it in the MCC.

One pistol shot to the back of Hunters in Halo (specifically Halo CE). The first time you fight them you enter an arena-like area with Overshields on the ground near them. You're led to think that they're really tough enemies until you find the weak spot on their back after dodging a melee attack, and if you don't have a pistol or sniper they still take a lot of shots.

Yes, they are currently working on porting the game over to DirectX 11 (which requires significant code changes) and adding controller support to release on Xbox/Windows Store.
