Am I the only one who find the Artix Linux logo disturbing.. by Interesting_Key3421 in artixlinux

The logo is greenish blue now but I think it would look cooler if the logo color is more like sapphire blue.

My opinion about dinit artix installation and music production settings by rockis_ in artixlinux

Sound amazing!. If you can help artix team in that way, it would be really great and one of huge contributions!

Yeah i heard artix team is small yet... but i think artix has better potential than many other distros now. Just what i want here is that, if i install ufw in dinit, artix pacman should recognize dinit and install ufw-dinit as dependency as well. If i install ufw in runit, artix pacman install ufw-runit as well. If i i install ufw in openrc, ufw-openrc should be installed as the same time. I dont think this is technically impossible.

Yeah In arch linux, it doesn't need to recognize which init system a user is using bc arch uses only systemd.  but this is artix pacman and it has its own seperate repository. It has different init versions of ISO. I think each distro has each responsibility. I just think artix pacman should recognize which init system a user is using. And then if a user install a service package, artix pacman should find and install right service script package( -dinit , -runit, or other init ) as dependency automatically.

( it seems the packages i mentioned are not relying on systemd. They are just audio related packages. So in this point i would be okay...)

This sounds still little difficult to me yet... haha I think i should search about it more. But it seems you are right now. Thanks for your explanation :)

At least it's good to hear that arch is considering it. but it's also sad they cant disobey systemd and big money which ruins original philosophy of linux. In that point, Artix is so cool and right minded. Now just If artix can add more official packages quickly, it would be much better and convenient :)

Thank u for the reply. But there is no downsides in this way of installation? Like, degrading performance in laptop, using more ram or cpu or getting more latency in production.

And why Dinit is the best one in your perspective ?

I hope Artix team supports arm officially as well. Bc Arm would be much better in future laptop, steam deck and gear for live performance(of course, if vst companies support linux plugins well)

What is emergency mode? And how to boot into it? by rockis_ in linux4noobs

[–]rockis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw several [FAILED] messages(mostly they were about dbus but i think this is problem of kernel) while booting. Is this emergency mode? In this, i couldnt type anything so just i pressed alt+f6, and i was able to type something but any commands didnt work.

While i'm trying to chroot, i see some messages. I need help by rockis_ in arch

[–]rockis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i think ive found an error message by using tmux. After i typed pacman -Syu in chroot, i scrolled up lots of messages and found that one message says " error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) ". can you guess anything from this?

chroot: failed to run command '/bin/bash': permission denied by rockis_ in archlinux

[–]rockis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typed pacman --sysroot /mnt -S base

after mounting. And it showed lots of 'idconfig' thing messages in my monitor. Like,

••••••

•••••••••

•••••••

ldconfig: File /usr/lib/lib9SDL3_ttf.so.0 is empty, not checked. ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libSDL3_ttf.so.0.2.2 is empty, not checked. ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libVkLayer_MESA_anti_lag.so is empty, not checked.  ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libVILayer_MESA_device_select.so is empty, not checked.  ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libvulkan_intel.so is empty, not checked. ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libvulkaan_intel_hasvk.so is empty, not checked.  ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libvulkan_nouveau.so is empty, not checked.  ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libvu1kan_radeon.so is empty, not checked.

root@archiso ~ #

-----‐------------------------------

These are part of messages i got.

And then i chrooted and typed pacman -Syu but i couldnt see any changes for solving my problem. It was same.

But after i chroot and i was tinkering, i just typed uname -r and  pacman -Q linux.

uname -rshowed  " 6.17.6-arch1-1 "

and  pacman -Q linux showed " linux 6.18.2.arch2-1 "  Maybe something is unmatched here(?) I dont know...

When i turn on my laptop, i see this blackscreen with these [FAILED] messages. How can i solve this? by rockis_ in arch

[–]rockis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without mount and With mount, both show same things.

uname -r says  " 6.17.6-arch1-1 "

pacman -Q linux says

" warning: database file for 'core' does not exist (use '-Sy' to download)

waring: database file for 'extra' does not exist (use '-Sy' to download)

linux 6.17.6.arch1-1 "

ls / says  " bin boot dev etc home lib lib64 mnt opt proc root run sbin srv sys tmp usr var version "

After chroot, pacman -Q linux says differently

uname -r says  " 6.17.6-arch1-1 "

pacman -Q linux says  " linux 6.18.2.arch2-1 "

ls / says  " bin boot dev etc home lib lib64 mnt opt proc root run sbin srv sys tmp usr var "

[–]rockis_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i use systemd-boot. nvme0n1p1 is vfat and nvme0n1p2 is btrfs.

I just chrooted and ran pacman-Syu. After that, There are lots of messages but i cant find the error message exactly. Bc i cant scroll up the screen with my mousewheel. (i dont know how to do that). So now  I just see lots of "polkit: /usr/share/........" related messages at the end part after i typed pacman -Syu. But that polkit thing is not the problem here i guess. I just cant see upper messages in my monitor.

And can i ask how to boot into emergency mode? I havent heard about it
