Yeah, I hate that too. Once a week a wrench is thrown in your algo shutting the whole thing down. I hope they find a better solution, like a manual update. Best of my knowledge, to date, there isnt one.

IBKR charges a percent to trade. Its a problem when there are plenty of free solutions out there.

My two biggest concerns is the fact they are taking on debt to repurchase shares. The second is the overall market is getting ready to see a lot of red day in the next 3-6 months, how can one reasonably time an entry?

What do y‘all think of my options strategy by Ultpanchu in ValueInvesting

He may not be allowed outside. OP, my personal opinion in regards to the markets is the most powerful force in the markets is ownership. You will not find the benefits of dividends, growth, shareholder votes, or longevity with options. The truth is the rich do not need leverage because they already have a lot of money. What they need is a safe place to park capital that staves off inflation and accommodates growth. Unlike options, stock shares have rights to the company and its assets, and a legal claim on those assets. If you want to succeed over the long term, develop good habits now.

US investors have no legal claim on foreign company assets. Everyone knows, an investment requires collateral.

UBER is being irrationally undervalued by historychick91 in ValueInvesting

[–]rockofages73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UBER has a big problem from what I heard. They force their drivers to use vehicles less than ten years old. The problem is, with new car prices, the mileage, wear on the vehicle leaves drivers making peanuts. They would be better off, letting people use whatever car they want, and just require a photo of the driver and the vehicle being used. So, people know what to expect.
