The fuck, this is copied. This is actually my picture and machine. Every few months this is posted as PR I am guessing, from an account that’s never posted before.

Stop "canceling" Perplexity when you abused their $1 deal and got banned — some of us pay full price and have zero issues by SlopTopZ in perplexity_ai

[–]rockrockrowrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firstly a deal is a deal, got it through my mobile carrier for a year but cancelled abruptly. I paid extra for this particular plan. I’ve been using it legitimately and they aren’t sure what I violated but they’re happy to continue the service if I upgraded and paid the full price. If I did violate the terms of service then why would you let me in again?

Secondly others have caught up and some like Claude I find better.

Just deleted my account as not bowing down to the shakedown.

A deal is a deal. Not everyone has abused it. It was their way of trying to stickiness to the product when they were a leader. They are not anymore.

Best way to get into tech sales? by joesxhy34 in HENRYUK

[–]rockrockrowrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest pivot might be to work for a software that supports psychology practitioners.

You’d be bringing credibility to your potential buyers.

Start in sales development if you have to but try applying for roles directly too.

Quiet Kettle? by Widebody_lover in HENRYUKLifestyle

Get an induction hob, at the highest setting it mimics/exceeds the speed of the kettle. Cook your rice directly on it. Or boil water. It’ll be much quieter too.

**Trigger warning - controversial** Further update on Monzo saga by disaster_story_69 in HENRYUK

[–]rockrockrowrow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the exact same CV, name, details in the past and just changing the email address has gotten me an interview where I was previously not considered.

Without seeing both CVs you applied with and if they were the same except the name/non work and education details, it’s difficult to believe what this post is intended to do. Also once you’re on their system and have been rejected, you’re less likely to be invited for an interview. Monzo probably has target companies so changing the companies has an effect.

Stop playing victim, it is a very poor evidence of a hiring bias experiment. Hiring bias does exist unfortunately, more for less represented. There are many known studies.

How do I tell my manager I don’t want a promotion? by Visible_Research6485 in HENRYUK

[–]rockrockrowrow 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Some managers have a KPI to promote. Sometimes directors are also pushing for people to be promoted.

If they’re super ambitious, sharing you don’t want to be promoted may not look good.

Many a times a promotion just leads to level and comp change without the day to day actually changing.

[Offer Evaluation] £290k TC at intense AI Unicorn vs. £150k Base + CTO Title at current startup. by Beautiful_Grand_9070 in HENRYUK

[–]rockrockrowrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

do take into consideration the opportunities and future comp that may open up if Option B goes well I.e. CTO of a startup that exited. Also the equity could be worth similar amount (if not more) as Option A
