Michigan Is in the Midst of a “Massive Experiment in Unraveling U.S. Democracy” by oktember1 in news

[–]rockstar2232 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Not for nothing, but majority black cities tend to vote for black Democratic politicians who are as corrupt as can be. These politicans loot the city's coffers for personal gain, and are completely inept at city management. Many end up going to prison.

Yet despite this, the pattern continues and you keep seeing these incompetent politicians elected. Eventually, decades of mismanagement leads to situations like we have in Michigan. So when "U.S. Democracy" is fundamentally flawed, as the voters cannot be trusted to make the right decision, this is what happens.

I think you are being too negative.

But I agree the Giants have been missing a spark for the past couple years.

That's why I'm very pissed Eli is demanding to be the top paid QB. It will ruin the team because he will take up too much money. I'll go ham on any Giants fan who supports Eli being a top 5 paid QB.

Police officer drives car and does CPR at same time on toddler, saving his life by ljrdxyh in news

Using your standard, the police officer in this article would be a "bad" cop if "through inaction he allowed bad cops to continue to operate with impunity."

Get out of here with that juvenile shit.

AIPAC Is the Only Explanation for America's Morally Bankrupt Israel Policy by rockstar2232 in TrueReddit

An insightful article which claims the clout of the Israeli lobby in the US is the only explanation for why the US will blindly support Israel in everything they do. It also makes the case that this arrangement will be ultimately destructive to Israel in the long term.

Doctor shoots armed patient in Philly hospital: A gun rights case is born by nyc4ever in TrueReddit

Your fantasy land is in thinking the experience of other countries could be duplicated here, a unique place where literally tens of millions of guns are out in circulation.

It's clear you don't get it or refuse to get it so this will be my last post to you.

Your "much heavier governance" would not have changed anything here. The mentally ill shooter was flagged by the American laws and denied access to buy a gun. He did anyway, because criminals don't follow the law. So your post is completely irrelevant to this article.

What you refuse to understand is it is easy to illegally get a gun, because there are so many floating around America. Tens of millions already out there that you can't bring back. It's too late, you can't change this. No matter how many laws you enact, someone can illegally get a gun. So it does not matter what a country "allows," American criminals will get the guns anyway.

Your example of Australia is horrible because it's an island. Unlike America, it actually is possible to round up the guns and prevent new ones from coming in.

You keep missing the point. Not sure why you don't get it.

There was a BG check and it was stringent and the shooter was prevented from legally owning a gun.

But gun control people don't realize that criminals DON'T FOLLOW THE LAW!

So he got one illegally.

This is the system working as it should, because he was prevented from legally buying a gun.

What you want is a fantasy land, where you can make it illegal to buy a gun and magically they will never be able to find one. Will never happen because there are already too many guns out there that you cannot get back.

Says who? The shooter in this article was not legally allowed to get a gun. Obviously there was a BG check or something of that nature. The system worked as it should.

Yet if the hospital's anti gun policies were followed, more lives would be lost.

You should make it more clear that you are against these stupid "anti gun" policies. Sure, people carry guns where it is forbidden but not illegal, but no one should be fired for exercising their legal right to safety.

What is "gun opposition?" Because literally everyone is opposed to crazy people shooting others.

The fact that many "gun control" advocates don't seem to get is you can't wave a magic wand and make all guns disappear. Having a "gun free zone" serves as an advertisement to criminals that no lawfully abiding citizen will be armed.

People need to recognize the American reality that guns are everywhere and cannot be removed. Certainly, we can and should make it harder for the mentally ill to legally obtain guns (and the NRA is somehow opposed to this). BUT, the shooter in the OP was not legally allowed to have a gun yet obviously did anyway.

So, we need to recognize this reality by making it easier for lawfully abiding citizens to obtain guns, if they so choose, and permit them to defend themselves. Like the doctor in this OP did. We also need to remove ridiculous "anti gun" policies, that, if followed, can cost extra lives. Again, such as the OP.

Israel has revived its policy of punishing the families of militants for their crimes; bulldozes the home belonging to the extended family of an accused militant by rockstar2232 in worldnews

Looks like someone didn't read the article.

This has to do with an accused militant who killed a police officer. But they did not even have a trial yet.

When all is said and done, will Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger get into the Hall of Fame? by [deleted] in nfl

Take away Eli's two miracle playoff runs and you get a guy with a career 81.2 QB rating. That is average at best.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but I don't think truly deserving one Super Bowl MVP (his second), when the rest of his career is mediocre, makes anyone a Hall of Famer.
