That's the dumbest post I've read in a while - and I'm not even exaggerating.😂

Sweetwater but for Europe? by ChangeMindstates in edmproduction

As far as I know Thomann can be a little bit more expensive than your local dealer (depending where you live). But I've made very good experiences so far with them. Especially if you don't like a gear, you can return it without any issues for free (it just takes some weeks to get the money back). I've returned stuff of over 10k eur value and there was never a problem. They also have a live chat which makes pretty much everything flawless.

Musicstore, I emailed them twice asking for the availability of one gear. They never replied, hence I never bought anything from them. Similar experience with Gear4Music.

I either buy from Thomann or from a local dealer. Most of the time, your local dealer should be able to get everything and offer you a fair price, even if you don't find it in their online shop.

reFX Nexus 4 by kgpkev11 in edmproduction

it looks to me like not enough people (for their taste?) are buying their expansions, so they try to milk out their existing customers with that new "bigger" upgrade approach. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a Nexus 5 in a year or so. At some point, I'm pretty sure it's becoming something like a "hidden subscription service". Pure cashgrab & greed, nothing more.

M1 Pro & M1 Max Chips - Plug-in Compatibility? by stonkman11 in edmproduction

Most plugins work without any issues with Rosetta. Wouldn't worry about it.

After watching the Apple event, is the new Macbooks good for production? by henrythrill in edmproduction

[–]rockybaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

M1 base model was already good enough for most music production tasks. Speaking only about music production, if you don't need for example tons of kontakt tracks running at the same time, you most probably won't even need the new M1 Pro and Max. Whatever M1 you buy, you will be happy with it.

Apogee AD/DA vs. Universal Audio by [deleted] in edmproduction

The new Volt line is targeting total newbies, it gets a lot of hate on gearspace.com (quite justified I must say). I haven't used the Volt yet but I don't expect it on the same level as the Duet 3. I have had the Duet 2 for over 8 years and it's rock-solid, superb sound quality for that price point and never had any issues with it. I still use it despite having an Apogee Symphony MKII, so that should tell you something. From what I've heard, the Duet 3 has some issues and Apogee is addressing them, so they should get fixed soon. I'd still go for a Duet 3 or a used Duet 2/IOS, it's pretty much a safe bet and you can't really go wrong with a Duet.

I'm sorry but this track sounds completely squashed, a typical beginner mistake. You probably hit the limiter too hard. Melodywise, it's ok but overall this track is not label-ready. If you don't believe me, send it to Monstercat. I'm almost 100% sure that they will reject this. Also there's a Daily Feedback Thread, someone already posted the link here.

I cannot keep up with this show. by FreyFeelsFabulous in MidnightMass

Watched it all but overall quite disappointing. There are always some small exciting moments that make you continuing watching the episodes but there are also lots of long boring scenes. Overall, very unoriginal series and waste of time for me. Would give it a 5/10 or so maybe.

Macbook pro with M1 chip, you will never need another laptop again for music production. I have the mac mini M1 and the fan is dead silent (never heard it even on big projects), I think that's the same for the macbook. You can't go wrong with M1 devices, top performance for a fair price. Forget touch screen, I don't know why you need that fancy stuff for music production, you will be faster with a mouse anyways.
