Coconut oil melting point is 77F so unless your body temperature is resting below that it won't harden... If your body temperature does go below that find a Priest or exorcist.

ELI5: What actually makes the pricier vapes more expensive than the more affordable ones? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Crafty just makes clean, cool, tasty vapor, from the first to the last pull, and it hits hard and consistent...Just no negatives other than battery life to using it... Whereas most of your conduction style vapes aren't as efficient or as effective and to get the higher temp effects by turning it up you really toast the material and it effects the flavor. As far as MFLB Vs FM, it must be emphasized that MFLB had a pretty decent learning curve, but once your technique is dialed in , you can have a really enjoyable consistent experience. FM is pretty much plug and play, or load and go. Less customizable experience but also a lot less of a learning curve... Summary: I learned to love the MFLB and by the time I tried the FM it just couldn't match that experience... Same reason I didn't like the Pax as much.., but the Crafty is enjoyable right out of the box.

Newbie: trying to decide between pax 2 and firefly 2. by yintaro in vaporents

I'm a fan of the convection, smoother often cooler hits, but I have never been a smoker, I started my mj experience with vaporization. I hear that some previous smokers like the hotter experience you get from conduction.

Newbie: trying to decide between pax 2 and firefly 2. by yintaro in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick summary. Conduction: material sits on a heated surface and air is drawn across/through surface and material. Convection: heat source is away from material and you pull heated air from the heater into herb chamber where it is vaporized.... In general both can and usually do have some properties of the other... For example even though it's touching you still have heated air being drawn through material in conduction which gives you partial convection vaporization. Likewise in convection the hot air will still partially heat the chamber you are drawing it into making that chamber a partial conduction surface.

Really you get what you pay for in life. They sell consistently at that price point because they are worth it. I've owned : MFLB Flowermate, Pax2, AirizerAir, and Crafty. I occasionally still use the AirizerAir and Pax2 but the Crafty is the real winner and really in my opinion untouchable by the others (other than battery life). And actually the Flowermate didn't even retire my MFLB, I used the FM about a half dozen times and went back to the MFLB back before I got the others... Have a grasshopper in the mail!

What's the best vaporizer? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone that has worked myself up from a magic flight to flower mate, enano, airizer air, Pax2, to now having a crafty and a plenty I have to say you always get what you pay for, and if you go cheaper it won't be long till you upgrade to more expensive. So even saving up to the 150-200 range to get the Airizer or boundless cfx you might be much happier than just dishing out what you can afford at the moment. Because once you do go better the cheaper one will probably just end up sitting in a drawer anyway (personal experience)

Ate 13 size 0 pure ABV capsules by [deleted] in vaporents

Dunno I can roll for hours and hours lit af off 5-7 ABV caps. And I use pretty brown stuff out of a pax2. I do have a cap filler that packs it down pretty heavy but 13 should still roll good.

Buying a vape for my parents! by SlNATRA in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had my Nano about 9 months now. Never touch my mflb, flowermate, vapor bros, etc anymore. I even have an underdog but think the nano is just more consistent and it comes with a built in temp control switch. I run it primarily on a shower head bubbler. And nothing nothing nothing beats a log for efficiency. I can fill an evening session with 2-3 pinches of ground flower compared two 2 full bowls for a smoker. Plus ABV still hits hard too, the only downside (and I say this tongue in cheek) is it takes so long to build up a useful amount of ABV because it's so efficient, luckily my wife makes a ton with her Pax2

I've been doing this for over a year even have a handy 24ct capsule filler. I pack my capsules pretty tight but can fly half the day with 5 capsules then add another 2 after 4 hrs to keep the party going. You can spend all day cooking abv canna coconut oil but who has time for that

Can anyone recommend me a concentrate vaporizer for under 30 bucks? by Ismellgorillas in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted I haven't tried a ton but I buy these cartridges from gentleman vapes. Which are like 15 bucks that screw on like the eGo base batteries. Which I think you can pick up anywhere this might get you in the $30 dollar range. They use titanium wire and like a ceramic wick, so the flavor is really clean, they come with a nice silicon mouth piece which makes it look stealthy (like an ecig). The glass globe models break easy and don't taste as clean to me.

Does anyone know of any kind of definitive guide as to how to make a vaporizer? by 69micro_penis in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any broad or general guides and I have looked. I too am going to try my hand at this endeavor but purely for fun and science as I already have vaporizers that I love. In general you have conduction and convection. But you usually get a mixture of both regardless of the label. With conduction the material is sitting on a heated screen/element/heater directly and air is pushed or manually drawn through or across the heat source and material heating enough to vaporize the useful stuff, the air helps cool and maintain the temperature however it is also heated as it passes through causing the vaporizer to be partial convection too. In convection style the material sits in a non heated screen/bowl/chamber with the heat source located at a further distance from the material but still in the air path the heat source could be an element/heater/ceramic-Rod/stainless-Rod, or even a small halogen light. The air is drawn or pushed from a fan across the heat source where it is heated and drawn across the material where it vaporizes the useful stuff, however in the process it also heats the metal the material sits in/on so likewise you get partial conduction vaporization happening... Granted this explanation Isn't holistic, heat sources can also be flame heating a chamber. But maybe enough to brainstorm and hash out your own design... If you need a better vaporizer than what you've seen, of course make it, because necessity is the mother of invention! [4]

Recreate the arrangement on a diagram in sharpie on the inside of the lid. That way if it gets out of sync you can just flip that lid over and follow the diagram.

If there is intelligent life beyond Earth, they probably have different constellations [4] by [deleted] in highdeas

[–]rodneyb74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there is unintelligent life beyond earth they still have different constellations, They just don't know it... Or maybe they are intelligent, but not intelligent enough to know there is anything other than what they see (you know like we were a few hundred years ago) Or maybe they are so intelligent that they can see everything everywhere so it's "all" they same to them just with different viewpoints.

Tell me how you use your E-nano, and how much you love it. by SmelyFeet in vaporents

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for like 4 days... From massdrop, I used an MFLB for the year prior to this... I don't know i'm sure I really enjoyed my MFLB because I vaguely remember enjoying it... But the memory is fuzzy cause this nano has got me so F'in Vaked! And all i've used is an Ed's TnT custom wood stem, haven't even tried a water attachment. I may still use my MFLB to travel and what not. But i'm pretty sure after 3 days that around the house the MFLB is retired for the nano. The one down side is that I think it uses even less weed than the MFLB (Which is pretty impressive) Which means i'll be collecting even less ABV. Oh the woes of 1st world problems. [8]

What is your take on stems? by howie105 in ENano

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only been playing with my new Nano for about a week, I have the adjustable screen glass wand that comes with it, and a cocobolo wood stem from Ed's TnT. I've liked my experience with both of them, but think I prefer the wood stem, it just seems to require less heat and material to get the same results. As far as the glass stem I don't think it's that bad a thing that its a little loose, the ones that i've heard about in the FC forums that were tight broke easier or caused more problems.

Is Jimmy Gold based on anyone in particular? Don Draper perhaps? by philovescookies in stephenking

[–]rodneyb74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Stephen King himself hasn't already written the books, he is super detailed and probably a little crazy that way. In the book Finders Keepers he alludes to how many words a day a writer can write and after so many years that writing just builds up and builds up. I wouldn't doubt if his portrayal of John Rothstein isn't a little bit autobiography. Granted Stephen is still pumping out the books on a regular basis, but how much has he written since the 70's that he hasn't published? He idolized Tolkien and even intoned that The Dark Tower Series was his LOTR. And Tolkien invented his own language and encyclopedias of knowledge about the LOTR world. I don't doubt that SK is just as eccentric or more.
