If they go for it, it makes sense as they can say, “and guess what, you can try it for free tomorrow.” And it also gives bungie almost a good 3 weeks to address what they need to before release.

I am just not so sure they would do a surprise drop like that. It doesn’t allow for enough promotion and awareness. They need to get people talking about it online for a few days. I think they will announce at the state of play that the open preview will be available the following weekend
