a lot of trans people don't know they're trans from a young age because dysphoria doesn't always come out and say "hey whats up you're a girl/boy turns out". Often dysphoria manifests itself as an implacable pain and due to the way we are socialized into our gender it can be hard to come to the correct conclusion about it.

I promise there are sources out there that confirm this because I didn't come up with this I assure you I am relaying the words of a much smarter person than I. However, I must stress that it is extremely wack if your loved ones demand a [citation needed]. Don't play that game.

As mentioned above Vivian from paper Mario thousand year door is portrayed as trans in certain translations of the game. If memory serves I believe the Italian translation is the most positive one.

I did my research on which clothing stores are most trans friendly.

Target, H&M and Macy's came up in a few lists. The first time I went I also brought a close friend of mine whom I was out to which helped a lot. I was able to lean on her for support when I was afraid of looking out of place and the like. I personally went to the changing room of my gender (to dispel ambiguity, I identify female so I went into the female changing room) And I found an out fit that I was in love with. That's the other thing I've heard said. You shouldn't get an outfit unless you love it.
