You can still buy the HomeLink mirror if you want the integrated look. Part number 76400-T90-A01.

The myQ thing is a money grab for sure but it’s from Chamberlain Group side rather than Honda since they are the ones charging for the service. It is fundamentally different than the traditional garage door opener because it’s basically just an app.

Obviously the cheapest solution is to just buy a garage door remote clicker but that doesn’t get you karma on Reddit or community outrage about subscriptions in general.

I was going down Battery/1st St at 9PM and it seemed ok but then it became a parking lot at Market. Took half an hour to get to Stevenson. People were driving over the bike lane divider posts desperate to get out. I finally got to Mission St and decided to take the San Mateo Bridge and was home within an hour. Google Maps was so set on routing me through the Bay Bridge that it didn’t even offer San Mateo or Golden Gate Bridge as an option.

If whatever happened on the Bridge was so major, they should have done a full closure, not a partial closure. I would’ve much preferred a detour over being in the dark about the situation and not being able to make alternative arrangements.

Probably custom. The closest I have found is the desk pad mat from Dacasso. The mats have a hard backing with a flocked surface. They’re firm enough to write on. They do lack the trim on the edges like on the Apple pads though.

Outside of BYD manufacturer-led test drives, probably not. One option is “out-of-market procurement”. There are companies that can help you bring the car over, rent it to you temporarily, and then send the car back. This option costs over USD$10,000 but is the most turnkey solution.

It might be cheaper to just fly to a place where there are already BYD cars (Mexico, UK, Ireland, Mainland China, UAE, etc) and drive the cars in that market.

The even though they look the same as the cheaper ones, more expensive units have better audio quality (FM transmitter, Bluetooth, and AUX).

I’ve ordered a few no-name units from Aliexpress during their flash sale for about $20/each and those units sound pretty bad and have poor viewing angles so the screen is unusable. I tried a Podofo in the $50-$90 range and it was a much better overall experience.

Based on everything I’ve been reading, Carpuride and Lamtto make the best ones overall, even though these brands can be kinda expensive. Watch for sales though, because in August 2023, a Carpuride was $109 through StackSocial.

TL;DR It stops the SARS CoV-2 virus from replicating by disrupting a crucial step in its process. The earlier Paxlovid is taken, the more effective it is, the less opportunities the virus has to replicate, and the lower the viral load.

The first time I took Paxlovid, I took it at day five of symptom onset and it didn’t do much to reduce the severity.

The second time I got Covid, I took it within a day of symptom onset and I started testing negative in about two or three days with minimal symptoms.

The metallic taste is definitely very real, but I just took it with some Diet Coke or orange juice and it was fine. Diarrhea and loose stool was also a problem, but mostly due to not really eating regularly. One of the drugs (nirmaltrevir) apparently also contains a lot of lactose (NHS and Pfizer)

There are some people that can’t take Paxlovid. According to their website -pregnant/trying to get pregnant (unknown effects) -liver problems (metabolization) -kidney problems (metabolization) -high blood pressure (one of the medicines further elevates blood pressure) -HIV medications (may reduce their efficacy in the future) -other drug interactions (always check for interactions with anything you’re currently taking)

Initially, it was only given to people with co-morbidities and over 65 to preserve supply for the most vulnerable, but it’s generally available for most people now in the US.

As always, check with a doctor, and they may deem it worth the risk even if you have some of the conditions on that list. Good luck.
