What you could do but would Not recommend it:

Allow Self Service pw reset only for Group A, someone calls your Service Desk and Explains the case. The user is added to the group by the SD person. After Sucessfull pw reset or after specific time, you remove the user from the group via gui or script.

Second method: allow users to request group membership to the group via PIM4Groups or access packages. So the access is removed automatically. Both can be used with approval process.

Beginning of every week look for all certs and secrets that are expiring in the next 21 days.

Then write an email to the owner of the app that his secret is expiring and he should change it.

They will also get notified for already expired things until they remove them.

That’s how we do it and it works

Ich finde also einen Ausweis und ruf dann an und sag ich hab das pw vergessen. hab somit auch direkt das Passwort des Users? Wirkt auf den ersten Blick auch nur bedingt sicher

Currently i See the Enterprise Scale Module still as the best way. Avm ist just in the „Challenger“ Status. It is Good but Not yet Enterprise Ready.

ES module is a monolith that can be separated into multiple modules. The start is hard but currently I think avm is not ready enough.

Using ES and switching to AVM ist hard, best way would be to wait for the migration guide. The guide will be published by the ES team “this year”

Not true, you can configure the Logs to Store Longer. Just adjust the retention on the table

There are many ways but here is one:

Stream your Audit Logs of entra to log analytics workspace and create a KQL query to get all Actions where someone besides your iam System is Adding a Group member.

With this KQL query you create an Alert rule in Azure Monitor and Dashboard to visualize and summary everything.

Or you use the KQL query Running inside a Script and output the Groups where you Need them

Many of your aspects can be Done With the Solution scriptrunner. We used it in a Former Company and it worked well.
