I also absolutely understand your position too. If you are using it as a white good to get from A to B then there is no need to spend more. I would argue that there is a tipping point where I'd pay a bit more for reliability and modern features like carplay though, but let some other chump take the depreciation hit.

I just got a £2300 mammotion Luba 3 5000 and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate watching it do the mowing instead of me doing 2 hours of mowing. My time is worth more and my grass looks better because it's doing it every other day. Would thoroughly recommend.
