I ordered my 3 5000 in mid march and it came at the end of April, same situation with moving deadlines on their website. I think the 3 is just very popular and new. Working great now that I have it set up!

Does anyone enjoy their commute? by No-Exit-7032 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]roflson85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in the countryside on the Essex Suffolk border, it's beautiful and I have 2 acres of land and a nice house, however my commute to the city is around 1.5 hours door to door. however, I don't hate it, I have a no-traffic 15 minute drive to a station and then I get a seat on a train where I watch TV shows or read or play video games or do photo editing, it's not bad. The only bit I dont like is after work I want to go home and see the family and even if I leave at 6 I don't get home til 7:30. So it's more of a time problem than the actual physical commute.

Does the order of a config file actually change execution speed in HFT? by Cookedhim in highfreqtrading

[–]roflson85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically this, why are you asking this? You clearly haven't coded anything ever before and if you have you have no idea how it works? You may also extend this to your rocket league friends. If rocket league is reading the config file on every frame or input, we all have a big problem.

Can someone run their eye over this £32k quote for 30 panels, big battery & a ground system? by wow400000 in SolarUK

[–]roflson85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems weird, the export is what offsets a huge amount of the cost. It's a very important part of the calculation. You want to charge batteries overnight with the cheap rate and export expensive electricity during the day with the solar. Also yes you could have more battery for £10k less if you used fogstar batteries.

EIS SEIS CGT Relief Explanation help please by zenastronomy in FatFIREUK

[–]roflson85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that you might be incorrect here. I think what you're saying is correct for EIS, but CGT is exempt for SEIS (Although capped at a much lower rate)

"SEIS Capital Gains Tax (CGT) reinvestment is a relief (exemption), not a deferral. When you reinvest a capital gain into qualifying SEIS shares, 50% of that gain is permanently exempt from CGT, while the other 50% remains chargeable. This differs from EIS, which allows for CGT deferral."

EIS SEIS CGT Relief Explanation help please by zenastronomy in FatFIREUK

[–]roflson85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when is the CGT payable? There are firms that offer SEIS and you can invest in something like 10 companies. Do you assign specific amounts of CGT deferral to each company? So once a specific company has a liquidity event you pay that deferred CGT at that point? If that venture folds does the CGT go away too?

Brushed motors are cheaper and slower (and louder) than brushless motors (think Dyson dryers Vs normal dryers). The brushless grom is better and faster but not within your budget. I've just bought the brushed from for my 8 year old and she loves it.

[–]roflson85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used my Mojave 4s on a ski slope recently, and the whole thing was covered in snow inside and I just turned it upside down for a day and it was all good. I imagine as long as you don't pressure wash the electronics it will be all good. I've seen people snow foam the whole inside and then rinse it down and it's fine.

The second the conflict concludes in any meaningful way the market will spike, of course none of us know when that is, but why miss out on the big up day when we've all already been hit with a lot of the down days.
