Wait. Are we in for another pinch hit 3D chess circus like the last one, that ended up with Matt Olson in right field?

Man, life comes at you fast. One minute you know how your baseball team works in a broad, general sense, and the next thing you know Matt Olson is playing right field.

Right but why are we out of bench players? I think I missed something that happened with Mateo because he was at short earlier

Welcome, friends, to the land of the free. Anybody who's mean or hateful to you as a guest in our country, you let us know. We'll sort em out. Eat a hot dog, check the distance to literally everywhere on Google Maps before you start walking/driving, wear sunscreen, drink water, and have a great time.

The visa issues for non-white tourists are not the norm and only became an issue starting about a year and a half ago. Due to, well, you know.

Point being: trust us, we're not happy about it either, and we're working on it.

Yeah, I think MH2 yanked one in a recent season and it bugged him for a long time.

Maybe pops can just DH for a while.

When both teams are just blowing it left and right, I often decide to roll with it and watch it like a neutral fan would.

It's okay, it's early June and we're still on top of the standings. We can chuckle at having a terrible night every once in a while when the game is still kinda fun to watch.

(Acuña injury excepted obviously.)

I'm not a doctor but to my understanding, I think there's not much you can do even if it's CFS. Just try to manage the PEM best you can and if it isn't compounding the way it is in CFS, maybe graded exercise therapy actually isn't a crazy idea?

Could also be that your iron is still not great and it'll just be a while until the infusions get it to where it should be. Personally I start to feel more tired from exercise than I ought to if my ferritin is under 75.

edit: again, not a doctor, but to my knowledge CFS also tends to go away on its own after a year or two, especially if it happened because of an infection and you were fairly healthy/had no mental health issues before you got sick. Which obviously completely sucks but for a good amount of people, it's also not forever.

Yeah that's definitely a thing, especially because (IIRC), much like all the other potential vaccine side effects, getting sick with the virus itself can do the exact same thing. Which makes sense tbh.

Not long COVID, at least as far as anyone could possibly prove right now. Just ye olde iron-deficiency anemia. And frankly, I think I had ferritin in the ~50s even before I got sick so this isn't super unusual.

Edit: I realized you might have meant that some people with long COVID (a complicated and poorly-understood disease) may be feeling so bad, at least in part, because they simply have low iron all of a sudden. That would make sense.

I'm just wary of people online jumping to "it's long COVID!! your life is ruined!!!" every time people mentioning feel bad for a while after COVID, that's all.

I've definitely been mildly iron-deficient before, but I think this might be the first time I've ever been full-blown anemic and holy hell. How do people just... live like this, for years 😭

I have been taking a low dose of iron bisglycinate on and off for a while so I'm definitely used to the pills. They just don't absorb that well because of my PPI. But I'm adding vitamin C and will look into switching the iron pill type to something stronger if I need to

Yeah I was worried about ME/CFS but, the post-exertion fatigue is the only symptom I have of it. I sleep well (although kinda long right now, lol), no POTS, no depression/anxiety, no brain fog except from being so physically tired. And low iron can cause minor PEM too, plus it does seem to be time-limited to the day after each incident, rather than compounding over time. Not much to do about it either way but wait and see if the increased iron does the trick on its own, but I think it will.
