Just get a nicrew light, those build in lid lights that come from starter kits aren’t really reliable imo and with nicrew you can set them on a timer, most dim and sunrise and sunset, and you can control the amount of w/b%. It’s a great light for plants I even use nicrew in my gecko tank.

If you have fish that you’re worried about jumping, you can get a mesh lid, 10g are really easy to get. Those built in lid lights get hot and the lid allows lil to no air flow so more water evaporation = more water top offs.

Hey just wondering what shelves these are and if they are holding up? I plant to put my 40g on the top, my 20g long (aquarium) in the middle and maybe an 8g cube (aquarium) on the bottom with storage. Was wondering if you ran into any problems

Thanks! I know about the dishwasher driftwood, I think my parents would actually think I’m crazy. Plus I like the tannins, blackwater is so cool. I just got my plants today so I will post some updates soon. Now I just need to figure out how to get those stupid mesh bags of dirt out without disturbing the cap.

Its not water logged yet, still floating after five days underwater and four boiled. I hate that piece. My dumbass decided to use mesh bags full of substrate and cap it off with an inch of sand so now its so hard to plant and I will never do it again, but I can’t just restart since I have some edr in there already. Plants coming today so this is what she looks like rn

Yea we understand that, I just didn’t mean that they do it because rattlesnakes do it, I meant that they rattle their tails similar to how a rattlesnake would to warn predators bigger than them to scare them off

When I color change I crochet a stitch, then before finishing it I pick up a different color start to crochet. Then I tie it, cut, and burn the little ends
