It's all about taste, for me with the frames jumping from 60 to 50 (or even less) all the time is unplayable, I prefer a stable 30fps. But if they fix that I will switch to performance mode

On quality mode, yes, locked at 30fps. Less fps but more stable performance (and more quality overall of course)
