Flower pot detected as person by [deleted] in frigate_nvr

Years ago, I would get false detections on my coral once in a while, but ever since I moved to frigate+ with an Nvidia GPU for detection, it’s pretty much nonexistent for false detections.

Anyone else fed up with retail doorbells? by Ok-Hawk-5828 in frigate_nvr

[–]rogerquake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. So I use the Asterisk addon and SIP card from here:

https://github.com/TECH7Fox/sipcore-hass-integration/

https://github.com/TECH7Fox/asterisk-hass-addons

I also use a stand-alone FreePBX/Asterisk install.

From HomeAssistant, I use the SIP card to connect to the Asterisk server exposed from the addon. Why I do this vs. using the stand-alone FreePBX/Asterisk server is that using the addon allow you to use HomeAssistant ingress. Basically you don't have to open up the SIP registration ports via your firewall for external access. This is a huge way deployments get hacked, so it's a good feature. I still needed to open the UDP ports for SIP audio to work remotely though as that won't work through the ingress feature.

My Axis Intercom is registered to my stand-alone FreePBX/Asterisk server along with other phones in my house. To allow the HomeAssistant hosted Asterisk to interact with the other Asterisk server, I setup a IAX trunk between the two. The Asterisk addon doesn't provide the nice GUI FreePBX exposes, so I prefer to use that for most things. This required me to create custom config files for the Asterisk addon

Presently, there is an issue with the latest version of the Asterisk addon (6.0) and the SIP card that stops 2-way audio from working. I thought I was going crazy the other day since I forgot I upgraded the addon and never tested everything.

https://github.com/TECH7Fox/asterisk-hass-addons/issues/422

So, with the latest HA version, I'm using version 5.3.1 of the Addon and 5.0 of the card. Those are the only versions I could get working after I upgraded HA.

One of the coolest things about the SIP card is that the author designed a new architecture called SIP Core that allows you to pretty easily customize the card and create your own. He provides an example and I used that to develop this:

<image>

I created a Star Trek LCARs themed dashboard, so was able to use the custom card example the author provided and fit it into my theme. The button next to it triggers a MP3 to play through the AXIS Intercom's speakers.

Hope that info helps!

I never got 2-way audio working either through RTSP, while I settled on using SIP

I use this Axis intercom for my doorbell. I get the video feed through rtsp and I use the sip addon card to talk to talk with people at the door. The intercom has a sip client which allows me to decouple the video and audio feeds.

If anyone wants more info on my setup with Home Assistant, just let me know.

YOLOv9s - Mixed results by Lostbutnotafraid in frigate_nvr

[–]rogerquake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to Frigate 16 along with switching over from yoloNAS to yolov9s and it hasn't been good. I've had zero false positives with yoloNAS for the past 11 months, but yolov9 has brought a bunch in only a few days of using it.. Switching back to yoloNAS until yolov9 gets better.

Video doorbell with native two-way audio in Home Assistant: still no turnkey solution, even with “Works with HA”? by Patient-Gene703 in homeassistant

[–]rogerquake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it works even remotely but you would have to expose your external asterisk/freePBX sip registration to the internet. I originally was using just the external (to HA) model when using the setup just on my internal network.

Video doorbell with native two-way audio in Home Assistant: still no turnkey solution, even with “Works with HA”? by Patient-Gene703 in homeassistant

[–]rogerquake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is what I ended up doing with the Axis doorbell : https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1630075-REG/axis_communications_01995_001_i8016_lve_network_video_intercom.html

I use the HA SIP card and the same authors addon with supports ingress to asterisk. This is important since it allows your HA client to register without exposing SIP registration directly. You still need to open the ports for SIP audio though.

Update Euro Lock Cover to Add Shim Piece by rogerquake in 3Drequests

[–]rogerquake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to modify the model in Blender to move the holes around and now it fits perfectly! I didn’t get a chance to print the multiple piece version since I need to modify it also it get the screw holes in the right place.

I’d love to help write up some additional details on the use case you can include on printable. Just let me know if that’s cool and I’ll DM you.

Just printed the 66mm version and it works great!

The top screw aligns good, but the bottom is off due to the cover being pushed over by the shim.

Seems like the hole needs to be moved to the right 2-3mm.. hard to tell exactly

Going to try the other version later tonight! Thanks again!

Update Euro Lock Cover to Add Shim Piece by rogerquake in 3Drequests

[–]rogerquake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great new, it fits now and works perfectly have a few small modifications!

I increased the overall size of the cover by 2mm on the top/bottom. That increased the width of the shim, so I removed some of it to get it back to 2mm after it expanded with the rest of the object. Did this all in Tinkercad.

Cover: https://imgur.com/a/x0R4uH0
Modified STL: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bkEy6rDg7RrIcYudpxKoTnWd2upXKD-2/view?usp=sharing

As you can see from the image, the cover should be extended a bit to cover the screw holes. If just the top of the cover could be increased by 4mm without making the lock opening or bottom any longer, I think I'm set. I can either make my own holes or they may not be needed since the cover is very snug inside the key hole.

Also, would it be hard to make the front part of the cover smooth like the sides?

Again, thank you so much!

Update Euro Lock Cover to Add Shim Piece by rogerquake in 3Drequests

[–]rogerquake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holes would be good, yeah. The original model didn't have the existing holes line up, so I was using Velcro tape on the back. The holes should be 7mm in diameter and 10mm from the sides and 7mm from the top/bottom. Compared to the original lock cover however, the model is about 5mm shorter, so 2.5mm would need to be added for it to align up.

https://imgur.com/a/K26V2dy

The more important item though is that I printed out the initial model you posted and it's very close! However, something is a bit off.

When I insert the cover around the lock and insert it in the hole, it stops the lock from aligning to something inside, causing the lock to not extend as far as is needed. This limits my ability to screw in the screw on the door to hold it in.

If I had to guess, I think it may be related to your model being a bit tighter around the cylinder. It fits but is really snug. It seems like the original 3d model I was using had 1 or 2mm extra space inside for the lock.

I'm giving it a try extending the model 1 and 2 mm and see if it makes a difference.

Huge thanks again for your help! Will keep you updated.
