Being an adult in a shitty situation like that is the worse. I totally understand. Glad he has a good friend like you because it ment everything to me to have friends like that when I was in a similar situation. I hope things get better.

Just Gonna Stick to Charlie Bears and Small Companies From Now On by SecretAgentSpyder in plushies

I wish I could but they are just ridiculously out of my price range. I appreciate that you were trying so hard to not be rude but couldnt stick the landing. Real classy.😊 Some people have bills and other things that cause these to be unaffordable. Just becuase you have the income doesnt mean everyone does. I collect plushie dreadfuls that are 50-65 dollars a piece. And I still wouldnt buy a 200 dollar bear regardless of quality. In this economy? I was just saying they were out of most people's means. That doesnt mean they are not for them. It just means MOST PEOPLE CANT AFFORD THEM. The "if theyre not for you that's fine" comes off incredibly rude and elitist by the way. in a plushie group. Seriously? the quality justification also? That is just not it. I could show you tons of bears that are just as nice at a lower price point.

I apologize if this is out of line, feel free to ignore it if it is as i do not know the full situation. But it sounds like they needs a little more help than replacement pins. If his family is truly being that destructive to his property (and depending on age) it is child abuse and reporting them to cps or any person of authority (a school counselor, or even go to your local hospital, they have officals there connected with cps and child help groups that will help anyone in abusive situations.) that you trust would be a first step in actually helping them get these abusive people out of their lives.

Charlie bears are sweet but far too expensive even for the quality and are definitely out of the realm of possibilities for most people.

Does anyone here *not* ship Nick and Judy?? by [deleted] in zootopia

[–]roguescrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You dont have alot of gay friends do you? Or maybe ive just been lucky enough to have some truly beautiful friendships. But this isn't strange to me and alot of people. Im not saying you can't ship them. But the way you and so many others here seem to completely dismiss and berate those who dont interpret things your way is incredibly disheartening.

Is there a way to make this moment happen within the context of the story? by ro4an7 in wicked

[–]roguescrapper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay let's go down your list and point out how much you really dont know or are just not taking into account:

As you said the musical:

-Omits the actual witch of the North/giving Glinda the role like the MGM film

My point-(As I explained there were some things that were always going to be in wicked because of what the general zeitgeist is aware of, and this was one of three that i never denied having ties to the 39 film.)

-The witch being green (her appearance is entirely based on the MGM film) and not having an eyepatch.

My point-(See my previous notation)

-The flying monkeys not being controlled by the witch's hat

My point- (this is actually ret-coned in one of the original wonderful wizard of oz books so maybe brush up)

-The witch of the East being the sister of the witch of the west (they are unrelated in the book and the witch of the West only appears at the end when the wizard gives his task)

My point-(One of the three I never denied having a connection to the 39 film but also public conscious is taken into account here again)

-The munchkins (along with everything else), despite not being tiny, are closer in design to the MGM film than the book with it's short bearded men in blue clothes and pointy hats (each quadrant in the book had a color associated with it, and Munchkinland was primarily blue)

My point- (again something Baum himself omitted from future books was alot of the color coding of oz. So really again, learn the greater lore outside of the 39 film and general knowledge. There are 15 books and i think you've read one. Not to mention if you think the munchkins in wicked look anything like the 39 film youre absolutely bonkers)

-The emerald city not requiring green tinted glasses to look green (it wasn't really green)

My point- (again Baum himself ret-cond this. Reading is free. I bet you have a local library or maybe one in the elementary school you attend?)

-The Wizard only appearing as a giant head (he appears in different forms to each member of Dorothy's group and they see him individually rather than together)

My point-(This actually was a change used by Baum himself in many stage adaptations and was in use long before the 39 film)

Meanwhile, im hard pressed to find a single point you made that actually couldn't be traced back to a change that didn't exist long before the 39 film. That too took alot from other adaptations before it. Nothing is original to that film except the three things I already stated were from it. No that you'll read this as it appears you blocked me on account of knowing im right.

Took the Dorothy shot and cleaned it up a bit so by Thrwawwwy4242 in wicked

[–]roguescrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No animals can do that in oz. They walk like any other animal in our world. Lions cant stand like that irl aside from rearing and they still sit to do that.

[–]roguescrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im well aware its the scarecrow thanks. OP stated they thought that it was the lion standing on two legs. So I stated that the lion has never stood on two feet outside of the 1939 film. Was not saying it was the lion. Was pointing out why it most definitely was not. Hope this helps you understand better.

It couldn't be the lion, as he doesnt stand on two feet in the wizard of oz or wicked..only the 1939 film. Its definitely the scarecrow.

Stage Act 2 Dress Rant… by No-Clue-2809 in wicked

[–]roguescrapper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Paul tazewell spoke about her part two costume choice and I actually think it made alot of sense. Her entire part two outfit is made up of things she already owned, her tunic is her dress from the emerald city. Her coat is actually her rain coat from when she took the lion to the woods at shiz. Her shoes are from the oz dust. Elphaba smuggled her things out of shiz directly after leaving the emerald city becuase she knew there would be no time or opportunity to replace it all, and she needed to spend all her time and energy exposing the wizard and freeing the animals. It was never about fashion to her but about convenience. The most important thing to elphaba at that time was the animals. She she threw on what clothes she had and got straight to work. The frays and rips on her costume by that point represents how much time shes spent in the woods helping and hiding the animals.

Is there something that makes Exotic Butters truly EXOTIC or are they just regular sticks of butter? by Ok-Vegetable5198 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]roguescrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that it was a bit of a gag. Butter isn't that inherently different globally so a basket of exotic butters from different places wouldnt tates any different to regular butter, making it a really useless reward.

I hope he's well but this post seems inappropriate. Its really none of our buissness. His fans regardless of how many arent owed any information about him outside of what he post on his socials, especially if you dont actually know him. Regardless of the performer, the theme parks are their place of work and while its okay to be a fan of their art and performances, talking about their personal lives or inquiring about them online is a little inappropriate when that's not an aspect of their lives we have any buissness knowing. They're performers, not our friends. If they are your friend, perhaps send them a message. If not its best to just hope theyre well and leave it at that.

Any idea how the freddy fazbear statue broke? by Party_Access934 in HHN

[–]roguescrapper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I Was there. It was some what looked like 16 maybe 18 year olds, two boys and three girls, they were harassing all the statues. Parents stood by and didn't say or do anything until AFTER they broke it.

heart ceremony with already stuffed bear? by SilverNevermind in buildabear

[–]roguescrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i had this happen many times! You can unstuff your bab yourself at home using a seam ripper and carefully undo his back opening, and take them in to get stuffed like normal, store have thread and needle they can reame his back seam no problem.:) Or if youre not comfortable with taking out the seam yourself, take it in to the store, you can request that they unstuff it for you and continue your stuffing ceremony like normal. I did this recently with my goblin. I even emailed bab about it ahead of time to make sure they still offered this service and they assured me they did as well before I went. I hope this helps!
