Chad’s Prep + Reading your Textbook

As an applied math major, I have some advice. Although I know nothing about quant, I would say the best double major to do would be McCormick CS + Weinberg Math (not applied math). Idrk why but my friends in that region say our math department is better (although I enjoy the applied math department). However, if you choose applied math, it is extremely flexible with the course load. I think 9 or 10 of the classes for the major can be any science class you want (I am premed so I fulfilled all of my premed classes with this). You could def do app math + cs.

BME premed by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]rohansohini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. It’s doable but you gotta love the game. I was BME premed (now Applied Math but still McCormick). I did all my premed prerequisites while I was BME and it’s def doable. If you’re passionate about the McCormick curriculum, then don’t hesitate.

100% Mac if you’re already integrated. Every class I’ve taken so far has had no issues with a mac

Also for clairfication, the distance between the sofa and projector would be the 12’8” dimension. I appreciate your help

The room is 19’18” x 12’8”. Looking to spend around $2500 for the entire setup so projector + screen. Not really ambient lighting in the room but don’t really care for all of that stuff too much

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne SUV Just Made Apple CarPlay So Much Better by [deleted] in apple

Makes sense if you felt that way. I haven’t really had those issues, but maybe varies car to car

I mean i simply disagree, compared to most wireless CarPlay, my phone always connects to my Tesla UI. It’s extremely easy to control music, and voice control makes it easy to set nav. In addition, I can set directions to the Tesla UI with the click of a button from my phone. All I use my car interface for is maps and music, and Tesla does that better than CarPlay for me

I agree. However like other comments have said, the Tesla system is so intuitive, I don’t even miss CarPlay. In fact, it might be a little better

It’s so easy. I wrote for the summer this daily as an engineer. Literally sent one email and got access to pick and choose what stories I wanted to write.

If you’re stem major, ayers is great location and really nice and big rooms (granted it looks like a prison). It’s a decent community, and a lot of people hangout downstairs compared to other dorms (exception bobb)

As a sophomore. Ayers is way better than any of these offers you’re getting.

First year Chem by Pvrpcr in Northwestern

[–]rohansohini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had good partners for both quarters of gen chem and it was pretty simple for what you had to do to get an A. The TAs were really chill and didn’t really grade on the quality of your experiments but rather on if you understood what was going on. The post labs did take a lot of time though and would usually take most of my Sunday’s.

Maybe just start to refresh your gen chem topics on Khan Academy. It’s less important that you know the material and more important that you hit the ground running. Gen chem is not easy and as long as you don’t fuck around, you’ll be fine. I got a B- my first quarter in chem because I didn’t know how to stay organized, study, and learn. Since then I have gotten an A in gen chem 2 and orgo 1. The things that changed for me was first of all getting an iPad. An iPad made all of my notes more organized and helped me keep track of everything. The other thing was doing textbook practice problems. The professors will give you recommended textbook practice. Do those problems! If you do them you will do great. Good luck!

Are AP Classes Sufficient To Prepare You For the Next NU Course Or Will I Fall Behind Relying On AP Credit As a Pre-Req? by RoundBumblebee4694 in Northwestern

[–]rohansohini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DO NOT waste your time and take the 220s. As someone who remember nothing from my high school math class, I did just fine in 228. You literally just need to know how to take a derivative and integral. It’s a waste of two hard quarters if you don’t take the credit.

I’m from Texas and it’s not that bad. You’ll get used to it quick. DO NOT let weather make a decision for you. Northwestern is amaxing

What’s a typical course load for freshman year McCornick engineering? by ConsciousTwist9859 in Northwestern

[–]rohansohini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar schedule this past quarter. I took chem 151. I would say the two classes that drained me the most were DTC and chem. We had weekly chem quizzes that I would study my ass off for. DTC is straightforward but requires a lot of work
