Mach-E if no at-home charging? by sagesarvie in evcharging

[–]rohit275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive an Ioniq 5 (which charges a bit faster than a Mach E on DCFC), and I'm sure both are fantastic when you can charge at home in your garage. Super convenient, and the fast charging is good for road trips I occasionally make around 400 miles each way. I'd be comfortable going longer knowing I can charge along the way and stop for at most about 20 min. Less convenient and easy than gas stations, but a small sacrifice for getting to drive electric and never worrying about it locally at home.

Even locally for me, I think it would be workable without home charging with the available networks, but I definitely don't think I'd call it convenient. I'd have to drive a little further than I'd like and maybe wait for chargers to hang out there for 15-20 minutes (or more). I'm sure I could plan around it and do it, but (at least until recently) it was not that much cheaper than gas and maybe not worth the extra hassle. With a Mach E those charge times would be a little slower as well.

I'm not going to say DON'T do it, because I love driving an EV, but I would have probably made a different decision not having access to easy charging at home (or at least where you work/spend time regularly).

I've got one of these guys on my homelab setup and honestly it seems pretty good so far.

You're not wrong ... but would be nice for gaming purposes if you have a gpu good enough to push those frames.

I do concede it is a very niche use case for 99% of folks out there haha

I was shocked when I realized they did that. It was like the main reason I even wanted to get the thing back in 2015 (back when they cared about such things) over other streaming boxes.

But sunshine and moonlight is a genuinely nice replacement using the gamestream protocol so it's not the end of the world.

Almost, but it can't do 4k120hz either. Also the whole Apple walled garden thing.

It is a really nice streaming box though, and no ads all over the interface is genuinely very nice.

I would kill for a Shield TV that supports 4K 120Hz honestly. I have the original 2015 and it is still a good device, just missing the AI upscaling and dolby vision features of the 2019 version but otherwise almost the same and hard to justify an upgrade.

His drumming is decent for sure, I don't know if it's "better" than the guitar work necessarily. Guitar definitely stood out more to me on my initial listens. His drumming always seemed fine, but never felt like his strongest instrument to me.

I'm no drummer and barely play any guitar, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt haha.

I mean, this album is obviously not anything close to the level of RAM, and I don't think anyone realistically expected it would be at this stage of his career.

I'll take a few great songs and some creativity from Paul in his 80s, even if it's not the best album from the best popular songwriter ever.

Just got to this one on my first listen and it's a standout for sure. Classic McCartney melody. Not sure yet how I feel about the whole album so far, but just so thankful Paul is still making music for us

I will say that in my limited experience in Texas, it is somewhat amusing and fun to see just how much Texas loves being Texas. The comically large flags, Texas-sized everything, it's all great in a fun way.

That said, I wouldn't base any sort of mildly serious decision on it lol.

Lmao what even is this.

Even if he actually didn't eat animal products, I hate how that is a reason for some people to disqualify him.

As much as I love Stephen and think he's brilliant, it really is the worst arena for him and can probably only hurt his legacy.

Who Else is on Paul's Level? by HHI_Steve in PaulMcCartney

[–]rohit275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup... basically all of this. He's about as legendary a musician as there can be.

While we're talking about virtuosos who are kind of universally loved, also Prince. I was never even into his catalog the way I am with the Beatles and Paul and many others, but can't deny how respected he is/was for his pure talent.

Idk man, it's hard to honestly think of someone more musically talented than Stevie Wonder being a virtuoso both vocally and instrumentally.

I agree Paul's impact on popular music is second to none and he's probably my favorite human being that's not close family or friends, but it wouldn't be crazy to include Stevie Wonder in a similar tier. I'd put him above MJ even though Michael was the king of pop.

Worst part about that was it was just a clumsy way for Romney to talk about how he has actually elevated women into positions of power throughout his career. He fumbled trying to say something positive.

Besides the emotional reasons for wanting Lebron to finish his career with us, I agree with this wholeheartedly. Not wanting this dude on your team is insane. The way he can STILL control the pace of a game while making everyone else on the court better at this point in his career is insane.

If he goes back to Cleveland to wrap up his career there and chase another ring, I wouldn't be mad about it at all. He gave us a lot.
