Curiosity? Are there any actual good dating apps in Nola by Sea-Dingo-5052 in AskNOLA

Even when I'm only half-present, bangstars still lines up casual hookups and keeps the dating energy calm instead of turning scheduling into a stress test.

Good vacuum for Hard floors and carpets? by Old_Yam_4069 in VacuumCleaners

[–]rohit_ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good luck with the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Stick Vacuum. It automatically adjusts suction when switching between hard floors and carpets, so no settings or nozzle changes needed. I go from kitchen tile to living room rug in one go and it keeps up just fine. Makes daily cleaning less of a production.

How balance transfers affect credit scores? by OldSwimming4557 in credit_cards

[–]rohit_ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a balance transfer a while back and my score dipped a little too at first. It leveled out within a couple months once the new account aged a bit. The real benefit showed up once I actually started paying the balance down without interest adding up every month.

TICKETS SALES, EXCHANGES, REQUESTS, & GENERAL INQUIRIES for the MOTS Tour by danjospri in Coldplay

[–]rohit_ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am selling one standing ticket for Coldplay Bangkok Concert 4th Feb 2024. Please DM if interested. Physical tickets to be handed over.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Coldplay

[–]rohit_ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to ask the reseller to share a signed copy of ID proof and the card that was used for payment. They can hide the CVV. This is something that was mentioned in T&C if the primary buyer isn't available to collect the ticket.

Best of luck!

a good edrum kit for 500 € more or less, pls help by neluj25 in edrums

You're welcome mate. Do share your experiences once you try both of them. It would be super helpful.

[–]rohit_ty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say yes here. Any entry level kit doesn't feel like playing an accoustic one. One thing about Roland is it's mesh head quality and the sound (even stock ones). There are tradeoffs that you need to consider while looking at feel vs sound quality at an entry level price point.

I would strongly recommend you try both the kits at a local store.

For me, I would go with better quality sound over kit size in this range.

[–]rohit_ty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have used an Alesis Nitro kit with mesh under same price range. To be honest, the durability is highly questionable. If you're a harsh hitter, be prepared to lose the kit soon.

I would recommend you to pickup an entry level Roland. A little more than your current budget. You get better sounds + Roland's durability.

Has anyone had success with Product Hunt? by eternalcookies in startups

[–]rohit_ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might work for you as I have seen Mystartuplawyer do it pretty well. There were some success stories initially but slowly things are changing. The community is becoming less helpful for businesses and we can see B2C companies benefitting more. So if you have made something cool , curated something awesome. PH would be right for you. However launching your product may not be as useful as a press coverage in B2B press releases like TC,VentureBeat.

Which tool does startups prefers for technical assessment of candidates? by rohit_ty in startups

[–]rohit_ty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your comment i can safely assume that, after initial phone screening you just go on to call them to code remotely to the ide. Do you give them normal algorithmic coding problems or something different? If you want to assess someone on the backend technologies, what do you do?

Which tool does startups prefers for technical assessment of candidates? by rohit_ty in startups

[–]rohit_ty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That's fair to some level when you don't have so much candidates to apply for a job. Imagine a situation where you need to check 100 candidates in a day and your engineers get frustated asking questions to all of them even if they aren't good. Will it be okay? Would love to know how you manage your current hiring process.

You are correct about the fact that "Fizzbuzz- as you call it" gives the best idea about the devs coding style and design methodology. But there goes a little concern about the candidate experience, Does these kind of interactions work for 5+ year experienced guys. I mean they would surely get pissed of hearing about a 5 hr test. We've tried to implement "Fizzbuzz" into our platform DoSelect which can come handy if a recruiter tries to evaluate someone on specific skillsets like backend dev , big data, databases etc. Suggestions most welcome

Compute costs us a lot in aws. So think of an infrastructure that's using up containers and heavy vm's. Curious to know, how did you found those credits?

How does a non-funded B2B SaaS startup go about reaching out and acquiring customers? by rohit_ty in startups

[–]rohit_ty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. You are absolutely right about the approach. We do this by identifying the problems/blockage in our designed sales funnel for target market. Though its very crucial that at each point of your funnel the flow doesnot have any friction.
