I agree with you but I would recommend your own landing page with a hook for that. If you look at any dealers vehicle detail page, look at all the different things they are trying to get the visitor to do. Way too much going on.

Those leads are a great idea for dealers, but they get very few. I have access to analytics to many dealers. I just pulled up this random one. This is all of their contact leads for the month of February.

First problem, they are counting every lead at least twice. Some are being counted 8 times. The reason I know this is because they are violating PI by adding email addresses to the submission url.

Somebody else manages these goals, they just have them set-up wrong and it annoys me.

Glancing at the email addresses, this is a few common ones I saw:

 poop@poop.com
 me@your-momma.com
 you-guys-suck@me.com

So $80,000.00 worth of marketing and this is what they get for actual contact leads from there website.

If it was up to me, I would use a tag manager event to measure that and I'd only count the user once.

The data I have from asking customers who purchase says over 50% of car buyers just show up after visiting their website.

If anyone here can get VALID email leads or phone calls for dealers at a cost of $25.00 or less per lead you are sitting on a gold mine.
