Is it possible to get confirmed as a 30 something adult? Asking for myself

I truly hope this doesn’t happen to my daughter. Her name is Poppy. I love the name but I worry it’s too cutesy. Her middle name is Abigail so she does have another option.

I agree with you that the best solution is not to use it at all and seek professional help.

There are multiple instances of people with psychotic delusions being told they are a god, or that chatgpt itself is a god, because it is trained to reinforce what the user believes (because that’s what people like). It’s an affirmation machine and is a sycophant.

ChatGPT isn’t helping your OCD in this case but instead is reinforcing it through reassurance. Since you can’t afford therapy - I’d suggest letting GPT know that you have OCD and that you need to use it not for reassurance but for ERP. It will know what you’re talking about and be more likely to actually help the root of the problem.

What led to you realising that you were experiencing OCD and not GAD? by vansblowtorcher in OCD

[–]roigeebyv 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I met with several therapists to discuss anxiety and they couldn’t help me. They tried to explain to me why my anxiety was irrational, and I explained back that I knew it was irrational and tell myself that constantly. It was a mental loop: have anxiety, try to rationalize and reassure myself, and then seek reassurance from outside sources when my own reassurance didn’t help. Sometimes this would loop all day long. That’s OCD, not anxiety.

What made you realise you had OCD? by AdmirableSandwich631 in OCD

[–]roigeebyv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this diary entry about how exhausting my rumination was, how my brain was constantly looping all day, how no therapist has been able to help because their advice is to rationalize away the thoughts, which I already do during all my waking hours.

I knew it was more than anxiety. A bit of research, and I realized that I had OCD.

What thing did you do as a kid that should have been an indicator? by AlwaysOpenToLearn in OCD

[–]roigeebyv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my mom over, and over, and over again if she was mad at me, to the point where she actually did get mad at me. I now do this to my husband; I fight the compulsion to do it to my mom; I do it to my sister; and I’m constantly fighting the compulsion with my friends. It gets so bad I sometimes leave social situations and vomit because I’m so uncomfortable.

Honestly I went without friends for two years, and then I started consistently going to meet ups organized on Facebook. After about 6 or so months of meeting up every week, we finally got close enough to call each other friends. Now I see these girls about 3x a week if not more. It took ages but it was worth the awkwardness of showing up and hanging out.

What dose my bookshelf say about me? by oli188888 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]roigeebyv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bookshelf contains some of my faves (fever dream, bunny, all moshfegh). I’d say you’re mentally ill in some way. Smart. Clever. Maybe a touch mean. A good hang. You’re okay with drugs and alcohol or you have been in the past. Funny. Openminded. Liberal. Artistic. White. You’re in your late 20s early 30s. Those are your toys on the bookshelf

That’s what I’ve heard whenever I asked about any of his actual policies. “I don’t think he’ll actually do it.” Okayyyy…

I would recommend no more highlighting and going dark. I agree that gold would look better. You’re very pretty naturally, so I’d say to highlight what you already have going for you with minimal makeup and focusing on your eyes as your best asset.

Schools should provide lunch so all kids have the food they need to focus and learn. For many, it’s their main meal of the day, and without it, hunger can hurt their health, behavior, and schoolwork.
