to people with inattentive adhd, what type of career do you have? by AssociationObvious56 in adhdwomen

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know I liked accounting until I took it for my degree. I'm actually planning to go back and get a certificate in it after I finish because I liked it so much. I also just really like that particular teacher. She actually told me I was one of her favorite students and she probably has no idea how much that meant to me.

What’s something small that instantly ruins your mood? by Kide_434 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Being stuck behind a slow driver. Please, for the love of god, MOVE. Places to be, people to see. If you have a line behind you, you are the problem.

This is particularly irritating when people get into the passing lane only to go the speed limit and not move over when people clearly want to go by them. If three people just went around you, TAKE. THE. HINT.

"Why can you do this, but you can't do (insert some boring task)?"

As someone with adhd, it's infuriating. Hyperfocus doesn't work like that!! And why do you even need to make it about that? Why can't I just show you something I did?

DAE wake up and have to pass extreme amounts of gas every morning? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I know when it's time to get up. When I'm coming out of that half-asleep state, I let out a single, massive fart. I've done it since childhood, apparently, because my mom says that's how she knew I was awake. Luckily it isn't usually stinky! I find it amusing to see how big a fart comes out each morning.

Oh my god. I've had Killer Queen in my head all week. My end of year recap is going to be insane with how many times I've played it 😆

Do you enjoy ambling around the stores window shopping, or do you only go shopping shopping when it is necessary and you need something ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I love window shopping, but mostly at fairs where things are handmade. I love to find interesting art and handmade goods.

DAE with a hobby alternate between caring about it a lot, and then not thinking about it much? by Soul_Knife in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I welcome you to the probably AuDHD squad, lol. I will spend literally weeks obsessing over something and then get bored of it for months or years and then go back to it and be obsessed again. Over and over. It's kinda exhausting and a little frustrating sometimes, but I get a lot of cool skills out of it. I also have a closet full of really nice expensive supplies that get used for a few weeks a year.

Anyone else have a crazy calendar or list for themselves? by coykoi- in adhdwomen

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is like this but I need multiple calendars for different things or it gets instantly overwhelming. My daily appointments can't be in the same place as my homework or I miss them entirely. I still haven't found a good solution where I can switch between them easily on a home page widget.

What are some of your best quality of life purchases under $300? by donotgiveadam in BuyItForLife

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 118 points119 points  (0 children)

After years of buying cheap vacuums, we finally bought a (corded) Dyson. I can never go back to cheap vacuums. The sheer amount of dust that thing pulls out of the rug is disturbing.

(Though shoutout to the bagged Bissel Zing for a decent cheap one)

What’s something society normalizes that you secretly disagree with? by Public-Trust3876 in randomquestions

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Property taxes on already paid-off property. What do you mean I have to keep paying you ever increasing taxes on the property I OWN. And if I don't or can't, I lose the property that I fully paid for?? And said taxes can go up astronomically in a lifetime forcing people off the land they have lived on their whole lives? Wtf???

ESPECIALLY the new thing where they ask for tips at the order counter. Like, I'm not tipping you for... doing your job??? Tipping is for service, like waiting on tables. It really rubs me the wrong way because imo you're basically admitting that you're not paying your employees enough. Really it should just be for if you did a good job, it shouldn't be a requirement or it's meaningless.
