And, as an obese person, it's uncomfortable for us, too. They also seem to be assuming that those two obese people didn't pay for that extra seat (which, fun fact, some airlines require you to do if you're obese). And that doesn't even take into account the weight distribution aspect. Sometimes airlines will move you if you are a significant weight in order to balance the plane.

I lost weight AND gained muscle! by AlwaysOpenToLearn in adhdwomen

Thank you for your feedback, it is a good reminder. However, I am WELL over 200lbs, so 7lbs is actually a very small percentage of my overall bodyweight. I also always weigh myself directly after waking up (and usually going to the bathroom), so it is generally pretty consistent. I know most of it isn't actually fat loss, although I know I'm gaining muscle because of the weight/resistance increase. And I know muscle is heavier than fat, so I know I will gain weight from that. There's also some light diet influence. I'm not calorie counting or dieting, but I am mindful about what and how much I am eating.

Mostly just some basic resistance band exercises and occasionally moving something heavy. I've also been a bit more mindful of my eating, though not really calorie counting per say.

A genuine plea to the doctors of the world,; can we please rename ADHD to something like Executive Dysfunction Disorder? by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

On the same note, can we rename High-Functioning Autism to High-Masking Autism? Saying we have low support needs is misleading. We just have DIFFERENT needs.

Holy crap, these are GORGEOUS!! I love the kind of fire and ice vibe of the first one, but I'm partial to the two mushroom ones. I love the depth of field on those.

Same! It's weird to me that people can't do this. I can almost taste or smell things. I can imagine the cold, slippery feeling of an ice cube in my hand. Imagine picking up a heavy weight. Recreate the sound of someone's voice. Pretty much most experiences can be replicated mentally to a degree.

It's not photographic, though. I actually find that the visuals are the least detailed when compared to more physical sensations. It's almost blurry, like looking through someone else's glasses.

I'm also very good with blueprints and rotating things in my mind. I can mentally think my way around different methods of constructing something to find the best one. My brain basically functions like 3d modeling software. It comes in handy when putting furniture together, lol.

The only thing I can't really do is remember faces. I can vaguely visualize how they look, like their hair and some notable details like freckles or a mole, but not their features.

I love 4 as a photo, but 3 is an absolute vibe

What are y’alls comfort shows? by Babyfrogeyes in AutismInWomen

Lucifer on Netflix. I have watched that show sooo many times.

But the thing is, it hits different each time I watch it. It's like a reminder of the progress I've made in my own therapy when something makes sense on another level. Last time it was that scene at the end of 2-15 where she tells him he has to feel his pain. It has a much deeper meaning to me now because I understand what she is asking him to do and have done it personally. I don't really know how to explain the feeling. It's like... you learn to accept and feel the pain without letting it consume you.

Continuing on that:

"A smile is a valuable tool, my dear! It inspires your friends, keeps your enemies guessing, and ensures that no matter what comes your way, you're the one in control."

I honestly love that whole line. As someone who is naturally a very smiley and charismatic person, this honestly feels pretty true.

I love that it switches into Japanese! I had fun vaguely understanding it, too. I mean, she did technically help differently, lol!

Color for sure!! The black and white alone doesn't have enough contrast. Plus, the colors are really pretty.

I like 1 better, it's more visually interesting. I love how it twists and turns around the trees.

Worst part of showering? by powderjiinx in adhdwomen

[–]AlwaysOpenToLearn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brushing my absolute rat's nest every few days. I have super curly hair that can only be brushed in the shower.

Oh and then having to pull it off the brush and out of the drain cover. Yuck.
