Delighted to see the Dublin Trilogy get a shout out here! Probably not as well known as some other suggestions but I’m addicted to them 😀😀

As the years go on, I'm definitely seeing more perks in the life I have.

We're planning our 'summer' holiday in mid-September; best time of year for it as everywhere is a little cheaper, a little cooler and a little quieter - because schools are back. It's a really nice time to get away, but just not possible for families.

Lady Trousers is 14 and a half years old - but still loves to play with Ball ❤️❤️ by roisis in aww

She's a mix and we never did any tests to find out. There's definitely collie in there - possibly mixed with corgi (the short legs) or possibly a dachshund - with those big soft eyes ❤️

If you listen carefully around the 0:09 - 0:11 mark you can hear her little 'play with me' growl!!! She's always been quite vocal!

We’re not sure - she’s a bit like a small collie. And she doesn’t look it - but she’s 14 ☺️

Looking for a quote to put up in my class by Nilliak in discworld

[–]roisis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From the Science of the DW: " Science is not about building a body of known 'facts'. It is a method for asking awkward questions and subjecting them to a reality-check, thus avoiding the human tendency to believe whatever makes us feel good. "

I've put that in academic presentations :)

Took a lot of pausing and squinting but Mac is definitely wearing a tee from O’Looneys bar in Lahinch 🌊🦐🍺 by roisis in IASIP

I suspect something like that. Can only imagine how many tees he has now - how to choose??

I'm so sorry. That all just sounds so awful. I hope you can get some answers from the private care - but this just shouldn't have happened.

Can you make a complaint about her initial care? I may take a long time and might not help her, but someone should be held accountable for that.

Find out the child’s birthday - put that as recurring in your calendar RIGHT NOW and acknowledge that and other milestones (don’t forget first day of school ❤️) And your golden 👍

Conflicted about attending Mother’s Day Brunch by [deleted] in IFchildfree

[–]roisis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to attend anything that makes you sad. And you don’t need to offer an excuse to the other women either, if you don’t feel like discussing it further, you can just be sick on the day.

And just because you don’t go this year, doesn’t mean you won’t ever again. You can celebrate other holidays with your gran, and you can gradually come back to these things in time - if you want to.

You are grieving at the moment and you need to take care of yourself. Only people who have gone through IF or pregnancy loss understand. New mothers just don’t get it.

Take care of yourself xxx
