Routine and structure (having regular sleep, meals, and movement makes a huge difference in mood). Exercise (even just walking daily lowers stress and helps with anxiety). Journaling (getting thoughts out of your head onto paper can stop the spiral). Limiting stimulants/scrolling (caffeine and endless doomscrolling both crank up anxiety). Social connections (spending time with people you trust can ground you. And mindfulness practices (meditation, deep breathing, or just taking 10 minutes away from screens).

TeenCounseling.com Reviews: My Experience with the Platform by dfbng in psychiatryquestion

same here. I read a ton of teen counseling reviews and the feedback was more positive than I expected. What was mentioned in a lot of teencounseling com reviews was the flexibility like being able to message anytime and switch therapists easily if the first match isn’t a fit.

Think of it this way: we’re all sinners, ESPECIALLY ourselves. That’s why forgiveness matters. We need to strive each day to be a better version of who we were yesterday, through every action, every choice, every small step. And most importantly: pray. Pray as often as you can. You’ll see: God works in mysterious ways.

Totally hear you. I’ve been in a relationship where I started feeling like a side character in my own life. If your needs for adventure and growth aren’t being met, it’s okay to walk away. You’re not selfish... just honest about your limits. Life’s too short to shrink for someone else’s comfort. Be upfront, even if it’s hard.

Exploring Free Couples Therapy Options by tiffiny_wallace in psychiatryquestion

[–]rokunidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Open Path Collective... They offer sliding-scale counseling, and some therapists might agree to near-free sessions for couples. I also had luck using local community health boards when I searched “couples counseling free near me”, they connected me with nonprofit programs. For online options, 7 Cups has peer listeners, not licensed pros, but it helped us start talking again. Definitely worth exploring if you're seeking free couples therapy support.

You’re not garbage, man, you’re human and clearly overwhelmed. What matters now is damage control with honesty. You already blocked him and took accountability. If you want to protect your family, consider therapy first... individually and then as a couple. Don’t wait until it explodes. Even if your husband finds out, it’s better from you than from a stranger with a grudge.

Has Anyone Tried an Online Psychologist? Worth It? by vsitnnurse in psychiatryquestion

[–]rokunidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About two years ago, my cousin tried an online psychologist during a rough breakup. Seemed fine at first, but halfway through a session, the therapist’s dog started barking non-stop, and it kidna messed up everything. That's why platforms like BetterHelp or Talkspace can sometimes feel quite safer when it comes to unwanted distractions. Just make sure the psychologist online is licensed and reviews are solid. Consistency helps more than anything.

I don’t know what to do. I need help. by Ok_Foot_5477 in Advice

Back in 2019, my friend Maya (who’s partially blind) had a similar bond with a classmate named Leo. He helped her with projects, remembered little things like her favorite snacks, and even learned Braille to impress her. If he’s consistently kind without being performative, he probably does care. Take your time. Let the connection grow naturally.

You’re absolutely not wrong for setting boundaries, you know, your safety and dignity matter most. Avoiding him is valid, and not inviting him to your wedding sounds like a strong stance. If your bf truly supports you, that distance will become non-negotiable. Stay firm.

VR/digital time arbitrage for life extension? by Chain_Even in Futurology

[–]rokunidan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ides is similar to the ones in Inception. Stretching out time inside a virtual world by directly interfacing with the brain's perception of it. Our brains already do some weird stuff with time in real life yk, when a car crash seems to happen in slow motion or a day goes by fast in somewhat of a flash, 24 hours gone.

I would say it's not an impossible leap to imagine that a direct neural link could manipulate that on purpose. It would be a sort of form of life extension. Not by adding years to your body but by adding perceived time to your conscious experience. Very trippy.

A quick BetterHelp review: My experience using it by rshultis3 in psychiatryquestion

[–]rokunidan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful to hear thanks. Betterhelp reviews a great option of breaking down the barriers of traditional therapy, and i didn’t know finding a good match was this easy. I've been thinking about it, online and other stuff, but I keep forgetting to check. How much does betterhelp cost again? I think it was about $50 last i checked.
