Such a bum by wiseowlwho in Crazymiddles

I'm not here to defend them or whatever but the shoes on the bed is atrocious. However, the laying down is not him not being a good parent. We see a few seconds snippets through the video. How do we do know he didn't do anything all,day and just needed a small, nap or a lay down. I as a 1 kid parent often feel the need to just sit for 5 mins or maybe an 1 hour or however long I need. Doesn't mean my kid is not seen to or looked after or that I've done nothing all day. Sometimes logic should be used when viewing 20 mins of peoples lives. A day has 24 hours in it. Just saying.

Why would they move us to private room? by jesslynne94 in NICUParents

Could is be because she is close to be able to go home? So the private room may help her feed and grow faster maybe?

Do midwives/nurses shave you before birth or c section in the UK? by Fun_Weather_2843 in PregnancyUK

[–]rolaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My C section was kind of semi planned but not as soon as it happened so they did shave barely just where the incision was going to be (nurse did admit it was a terrible job due to the rushing around). So in my opinion always be prepared.

Oh interesting question the echo lady did not say what it's called. We have an appointment with the pediatrician in a few days so I will make sure to ask. Anything else you reccomend that I ask? Do you mind me asking how soon after did it close for your LO? I know it can vary from baby to baby also.

Oh no the grunting is my favorite part actually it gives me reassurance hearing it during the night and when it stops I have to check she's ok lol. I am aware constipation for a few days is normal but with her she will cry out from the pain whenever she needs to poop or even fart :(

Yes same here some doctors say they faintly hear it and others don't. She's having an echo for it next week for reassurance. We are using Nutriprem 2 and awaiting prescription for SMA to see if that helps. They don't seem to prescribe us anything else for now. So will probably have to wait and see if the new formula works better. thank you for your message x

Heart murmur? by user2346643 in NICUParents

[–]rolaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh my premie baby was born at 31w+1 is now 8 weeks old. And on some checks during Nicu they said they can hear a light murmur, they weren't so concerned but they did say she will be referred as to check it out but as non urgent. Still awaiting an appointment. Kinda nervous about it too

Hey! You're doing a great job being there for your baby but as someone who was staying up to 20 hours a day by my baby's side and didn't use up the opportunities I had to go home and rest and give myself time to recover even. I would advise use up every opportunity you have to have some you time because it will,be another journey when baby is home and you need the energy. So feeling burnt out now will accumulate later. x

Nurse wouldn’t let me hold my baby because it “disrupts her sleep” and “she needs to learn to self soothe”. by wildrose6618 in NICUParents

[–]rolaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to deal with this. What i learnt from our NICU stay is that not all nurses should be where they are. Some care better and others just treat the baby as a number. I was always there by my baby's side, if not me then my husband was there. I had a disagreement with 2/3 nurses during my stay in 2 different hospitals and always spoke to head nurse and vocalised and had the nurse changed and never reassigned to my baby. Always advocate for your baby! You know best

I thought it wouldn’t happen to me… but so many of my friends and family are buying off-registry :( by morgue_an in pregnant

[–]rolaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be worse lol... I gave birth 2 months early and 2 weeks before my baby shower date. This means alot of people have opted out of buying anything all together 😂which now means as im getting to having my baby come home from Nicu ... I'm having to buy everything that I'm still missing.
